Several years plus playing, still feel like a newb/sprout
Nodes could be below an overhang. Just because something is directly below you doesn't mean you can directly move to it. Sometimes you have to go around something.
I can't think of any DT nodes that are underwater and below an overhang. That one node I could think of was right on the "cliff" that creates the border between the shallow and deep water so I had to swim out slightly past the node then turn around and swim a couple of steps back to it (being careful that I didn't push up to the surface). It's annoying placement but the OP should still be able to get to it.
