of course, but right now my decision to play is driven by the fact that I'm afraid of missing a mount or a minion I like, so I force myself to play pvp to get them even if I don't find it fun. I don't know for sure, but I feel I'm not the only one who would never touch pvp if it wasn't for the season pass, and this is the saddest thing about pvp in this game.

My unpopular opinion: remove party queue in frontline and force people to queue solo. This lowers the chances of having premade parties and drastically reduces win-trading issues. Still SE needs to improve balancing and remove/rework the battle high buff.

I could understand your point of view to a degree, if it weren't that we would still end up with a certain number of solo players driven by some self-induced FOMO, whom by their own admission, don't enjoy the mode.

I could foresee an alliance where people run to the 4 corners of the map (under what you propose), and no one has a good time as a consequence. Whereas is small pre-made parties are allowed to join -even if it's cut down to 2- there's some small chance of coordination and cooperation. I would also hope that FL gets rebalanced.

Edit- the "what I foresee" is that PvP in this game is just side content aside for a dedicated minority, What you propose does work in games that are designed for PVP, and players are motivated/like/want to compete/engage in PvP.

You're certainly not alone (in either of those opinions). I think in general it is a bad idea to encourage people to play modes they don't like through any rewards system. My personal solution is simply not to play such modes, but apparently I'm much less impressed with the rewards offered than the bulk of the playerbase.

But then I'm also deranged enough to keep queuing for Frontlines when I had nothing to gain at all. There was a long stretch of time before Dawntrail came out where I was capped on poetics/marks, had 6000+ crystals, and with every combat job at 90. Literally the only thing of value I could have gained was commendations, and those were incredibly rare no matter what job I played.
The only time I recall getting 4 commendations in FL was when I asked an excessively spammy commander to take it down a notch and got a stream of "say/se.x" macros in response.
