    RDM Enchanted Moulinet Trois Recast

    Hey all,

    I’ve been trying to learn level 100 RDM, and I’ve been struggling to understand why Enchanted Redoublement and Enchanted Moulinet Trois don’t have the same recast time.

    It feels inconsistent that there isn’t enough time to double weave at the end of your blade combo for AOE, but you can for single-target.

    I’m also a bit unsure about Grand Impact so far, but I think I just need more time with it.

    Let me know if there’s something I’m missing here.

    It's likely a holdover from when the AoE "combo" was just three equally timed E.Moulinets, but it's just not really necessary for E.Moulinet 3 to have that longer recast. The oGCDs you could be double weaving don't make a big difference on trash groups, as you only have three AoE oGCDs and you can weave a single one after each E.Moulinet and the rest are single target attacks. I'd rather be on to the next GCD action 0.7s sooner than have to wait just for the sake of an extra weave window that I'm not even going to use.

    Grand Impact is great. It's an extra GCD of free movement every minute.

    Grand Impact being bound to both Jolt and Impact was an odd choice, should've been bound to Acceleration itself imo,

    Moulinet Trois is actively stronger because of it's recast, just keep in mind you can't double weave when in a dungeon.

    I think literally the reason this isn't the case is because it would make it obvious that every single RDM 90-100 trait was an attack tied to a buff.

    Not really, it makes sense. It replaces the filler with a strictly superior version (more damage, more energy, instant cast). There's no use-case for casting Jolt or Impact if you got Grand Impact up, hence it replaces those buttons.

    Except when you're trying to flip the dualcast window to not delay the oGCDs. It's been the biggest use of Acceleration since it became a Swiftcast button, and having double instacasts ruined it.
    Although Swiftcast's recast got almost halved so it's not as bad.

    It didn't ruin it; this is easily worked around by just not Accelerating too early. You're guaranteed at least one proc after Acceleration, so you will always have at least 7s and four weave slots to use Fleche or Contre Sixte while you hold Grand Impact.

    Yeah I was about to say, in a lot of ways it made alignment easier, as the overall flow of 2 minutes of combat is more reliable on muscle memory. Or well, is for me at least. Old Acceleration was always a bit disruptive to that.

    It would make more sense to me if Grand Impact just replaced Impact (which you never want to hardcast) rather than Jolt (which you might).

    I never noticed that there was a faster recast time for the aoe combo. It would be nice to have the recast time match the single target combo's recast time because I find myself having to rush single weaving, my gcd would clip and when I think the finisher has transitioned to the next step, I find myself casting jolt again.
