Then comes the debugging process and advent of engine updates or even new platform release which your stockholders or c.e.o can say "Make the game for the new platform with the new engine instead", guess what you'll have to redo that can push a release date back or force a foundation rewrite?

You're impatient, however if they didn't have to redo the FOUNDATION you could expect we'd have our first expansion pack by now, if you were to compare XI's development timeline, we'd be getting our first glimpses and preparatory updates for it.
Ok Tanaka. Rift came along and pretty much destroyed that excuse. I don't want to hear any whining about how long things take. If they're having trouble keeping up with the industry pace, they need to hire better talent. Other games are doing this just fine. No excuses.

You'll be asleep for a very long time then as you don't code armor, even with stats there's no coding involved beyond what a set module already takes care of automatically given it's id.

Before you complain know what you're complaining about.

    Rift wasn't rushed or unfinished.

Again, know what you're talking about before going on a tangent.

    LOL

Rift just copied everything that WoW did and then slapped their Lore on top of it. They did nothing new.

The other event that was canceled probably wasn't completed and can be sacrificed until next year.

You are assuming that because they can have these events they are wasting their resources, this may not and is probably not the case. You are also assuming that fluff events aren't as important as other content and that my friend is HIGHLY debatable based on the fact that in entertainment everything is subjective. What's important to you may not be important to me, in fact I'll tell you right now, it isn't.
But they're not fluff events. They are full gear sets, items, and animations that are lost opportunity cost for gear sets, items, and animations that matter. Every paladin weaponskill looks like the last, and we have new confetti animations instead? Raise doesn't even have an animation?

Get out of here with that junk.

    EVANGELA

Quit being a little c*** and listen.

The seasonal event took very little effort to develop. It in no way took any time away from fixing the game.

Additionally, we don't have the patch notes for 1.17 yet, so you have no idea what's going to be in the patch.

Understand? Or you gonna keep trolling?

    What we need: R47 pickaxe
    What they coded: Santa hat
    What we need: Quarry balance
What they coded: job balance so that everyone makes about equal holiday trifles
    What we need: job-specific accessories
What they coded: jobless samurai hat (good for gathering! except not...)
What we need: spell and battle animations.
    What they coded: Peach confetti.

Fail. Just within-category all around fail.

    This post was fail, indeed.

P.S Get off the "code armor piece" already.

Here's how your post should look:

What we need: A better Battle system.
    What they coded: In progress.
    What we need: Class uniqueness
    What they coded: In progress.
    What we need: Stat balancing
    What they coded: In progress.

Anything after that is a 'want', because what XIV needs is fixing, and content won't fix the game compared to making the game playable.
