Its because they have given WAR, GNB and PLD so much healing that DRKs are asking for just a little bit to keep up with other tanks. I highly doubt they will nerf those 3 tanks self healing down to DRK levels.

Which is problematic because just adding more healing to every underperforming job will just belittle Healers even more.

What job will they buff next with more healing? Will they add a heal to BRD's Nature's Minne? Will RDM's Magick Barrier get a Regen on it? Even selfish jobs that don't have group mitigation such as DRG or BLM can always get some more self healing thrown into their toolkits, much like SAM got Tengentsu. There's nothing saying that the healing component of Life Surge can't be given stacks to make it a pseudo-Bloodbath for DRG and that Manawall can't restore HP for BLM. It's a very bad corner that SE has designed their game into.

Better yet, give healers either higher personal DPS than tanks or give healers the ability to buff DPS players beyond mesure. Some insane buff, to the point bringing a healer is basically a DPS gain over bringing a tank.

The fact that tanks are much more resilient than healers, can dish out sufficient healing and have higher DPS than healers is just unfair. Give healers higher damage contribution (with buffs or own dps) to compensate for their frailty.

Imagine playing a tank, grabbing mobs, just for a WHM to holy stun the pack and keep them stunned permanently until they were killed. You would feel, quite reasonably, useless and almost cosmetic in your role. Why bother bringing a tank when you can just WHM + 3 dps right?

That is the healer equivalent to current tank design. Yet, it wouldn't even be as equally bad because tanks still have far more interesting DPS rotations and buttons to press when they do not need to mitigate stuff. You would be laughed at and thought of as a troll for suggesting WHM to have a permanent holy stun - yet if you dare suggest tanks like WAR (and now PLD) shouldn't be immortal Gods who invalidate healers, you are dismissed. How dare you take away from THEIR fun?

The healer role isn't going to be fixed any time soon, just give up guys, please. Go play something else and have fun, give up on this dog shit role that is made for newbies or limsa afkers who feel anxiety at the slightest amount of pressure. I genuinely have never felt more happy to do my dailies when I swapped to tanks/dps instead of taking an insta queue as a healer, even if it means waiting 5-10mins.

Even then healer is only really necessary on week 1-3, the second better gear is acquired you could begin to remove them from the group, like how M4S was cleared with none.

This role is irrelevant and unenjoyable in 99.5% of content.

White Mage and Sage should probably do more damage than the tanks to help them against SCH and AST dominance, WHM specifically should be on par with DRK so it actually has a niche besides being baby's first healer
