Or all the incoherences pointed in the "tribes" stories.

But yeah, let's pretend the majority of people are 5 years old throwing a tantrum.
Criticism isn't the problem, it's the rhetoric being used. People don't just say they don't like the main character, it's "atrocious writing" that will "damage the brand" and is "a return to 1.0".

Maybe it's not people's fault. That's the kind of language they're being bombarded with every day by mass media. But it still rubs me the wrong way.

All of his gamescom interviews totally avoided the current story from what i've seen, the focus was on arcadion and specific characters like Wuk evu, Bakool Ja Ja, i've only seen 2 articles so far though:

    https://www.pcgamesn.com/final-fanta...hida-interview

Also mentions multiple universes and going back to stormblood areas as a shogun to fight in the war.

Well, I expected us to go to more Reflections so that's probably what he meant by 'other universes'.

The Shogun idea seems WAY out of left field, I would like to revisit Stormblood areas and see how they are doing. (and potentially seeing our friend Goesetsu again)

Time Travel? Aww hell naw. That shit never end well.

“We want the players not just to read the story as it were, but to experience the story as a game,” Yoshida says. “When we thought about the concept of searching for the City of Gold, we thought about how we could express that within the story.
Yeah they kinda dropped the ball here.

I like the multiverse brainstorming. Maybe then the whole "the WoL is too strong and can't be challenged anymore" bullshit stops because I think it is beginning to hurt discussions going forward. It is the single most argument I read of people liking DT's story. I just don't buy it because there are so many ways to challenge us.
A multiverse could give us interesting things like a world without calamities, a world fully rejoined by the ascians or even an alternate version of the WoL.
We also kinda had a "multiverse" approach with the savage and ultimate raids already if we stretch the argument.

I never got the aversion to that concept. It's all a matter of how it is handled.

It's really interesting that in no single interview Wuk Lamat or the handling of the WoL in DT is mentioned. That gives me hope that they got the memo.

All in all I find the interviews really interesting. From a DT review perspective as well as from a looking into the future point of view.

    Possible interview spoiler:
Did Yoshi-p just give away that Living Memory is on the Ninth?

They already have a perfectly good built-in explanation for having our power fluctuate like crazy. Dynamis. We can be strong enough to beat Nidhogg one moment, then lose to Zenos the next. In terms of pure story telling, it's pretty bad, but as a plot device to keep the stakes of the game in check, it's a really good idea.

The thing about dynamis is, that it is limitless without downsides. It wasn't established by what it is triggerd, or even why the power of good is stronger than bad dynamis.
Both are triggered by emotions it seems, but why is one superior to the other?
In one expansion we fight demigods in the morning, and in the other the bringer of death in the evening. While in others we lose to goons for whatever reason.

Why do we even need to let a villain build up power if we can just slay them mid-expansion thanks to dynamis?
Why even let characters go through some growth if we can ask them to just believe in themselves and they become stronger than anyone around them thanks to dynamis?

IMO, dynamis is a worse narrative tool than a full on reset of our power level.

Wuk Lamat is just terrible, the voice actor sounds awful it comes across like a guy voicing a female character badly. The writing isn't great, the character development isn't good, but the voice just makes me want to skip cutscenes.

Exactly. Do just that. Then consider maybe 1 in a 1000 have issues. Maybe even 1 in 100. If 99 of my customers are happy and 1 isn't, I'm doing a great job.
You're acting like the people complaining are low, but Steam has the game at 33/100 rating. 33% of the last 500 reviews are positive, the score is "overwhelmingly negative". Of "all time" reviews for dawntrail 55% are positive. Thats not review bombing. Thats the majority.
