Cannot forget that, essentially, our first real interaction with Gulool Ja is Wuk Lamat just announcing "Yeah I'm here to kill his dad" and having to go after him to "explain herself" after he overhears that, and it results in...Wuk telling Gulool Ja she wants to get to know him and be friends with him and he just agrees immediately and we all have a friendly feast together. It's like the whole scenario was specifically crafted just so Wuk would become immediate friends with Gulool Ja without even needing to remotely try.
