    New jobs are interesting, but they're never a thing I care all that much about each new expansion. We're starting to get job bloat as it is in my opinion. So I would absolutely sacrifice new jobs for 8.0 if it meant CS3 focused on making the current jobs feel good again. Some feel fine, but others seem to have really lost that special something that gave the job its identity.

    More realistically, I don't see why we need two new jobs every expansion. Even just cutting it down to one new job per expansion seems more sustainable. I personally feel that having so many jobs that the devs have to manage and balance encounters around is part of what has led to so much job homogenization in the last few years. Every new battle job added makes their job harder and harder unless they do something to make the jobs more same-y, and...well, here we are.

    I'm sort of expecting the moment when they go "okay we're slowing down on the new jobs significantly" again. They already did it after Heavensward.
    With 21 jobs in the game, it's clear which ones get actual significant additions to their toolkit, and which ones get Solar Bahamut.
    I'd be fully fine if they really committed to giving every class a meaningful and fun addition to their toolkit (or at least as many classes as possible) if it meant no new ones for another few years.
    They could just do one class per expansion from now on until we reach "way too many" or the game stops updating.

    Any rework they have in mind is doomed to fail if it's from the same team who don't see the busted overlevelled Isync as a core issue.

    If that's how it's gonna be I'd rather gamble on them accidentally making a fun job once every few years.

    8.0 should be 2 Healers, maybe that might motivate them to actually start looking at issues with the Role.

    No, because I don't trust that they're willing or able to do an actually "total" overhaul. Knowing them they'd axe new jobs and make rotations even more straightforward and call it an overhaul. Even if they were to pull off a redesign of XIV's combat and (assuming) gear design, I have a feeling it would be more of a liability than selling point.

    I don't think it's necessary to overhaul the jobs.
    In my opinion, the only jobs that requires a functional rework are very few.

    The rest is fine, just adding a few more abilities/extra effect to some abilities to represent their identity would be enough.
    It's just that the healer and physical range role are in a terrible spot right now.

    Plus, people would complain. PLD rework was good but people complained they didn't had to do combo 1 -> combo 2 -> combo 1.

    Jobs are just fine other than nerfing the tanks self-heals. No new jobs would mean I wouldn't spend more than 10 dollars for the expansion without them.

    Nah, I don't trust the current job development team with overhauls.
    I'll pass on the opportunity of having Freecure, SMN Physick and Enhanced Unmend all rolled into one job.

    It wouldn't motivate them at all, we already had this problem when you look at the 6 year gap between AST release + SGE release. they would just use it as an excuse/reason as to why they didn't add something to that role.
    "Sorry, class balance is an issue at the moment so we have decided to address this by not adding a new healer " and then proceed to do nothing impactful.

    The fact that people are still mindlessly following the "just wait for 8.0" lipservice statements is baffling to me.
