    I'd give up any number of new jobs if they just gave back Noxious Gnash to viper and reverted major changes they've done to some other jobs.

    Why would I want more new jobs if I don't get to enjoy them for a whole expansion and they are ruined after only 4 weeks?

    100%. The more jobs they release, the harder it will be to balance them. I want them to focus instead on making all the jobs we have more unique.

    It seems like each expansion we keep testing the boundaries of whether the playerbase will continue to pay for less and less content. The development team should overhaul the job system and levelling system because it's in their best interest if they intend to keep selling this product to new players in the long run, much in the same way investing effort into revising the graphics was in their best interest to stay competitive.

    When you give in once, that's the new established standard and they know they can get away with offering you less. And it continues until the bubble finally bursts. Let them work for it.

    No. I might even hold off on buying the expansion altogether; there's no value without new jobs when it comes to ffxiv. The issue with xiv isn't new jobs, the problem is the game design and the people at the top making the job balance decisions. They're the ones who tell the game designers that to make ultimates go down to the very last minute of the fight for clears that jobs must be homoginized so that any job combination is ensured to clear such things as ultimates or the last tiers of savage normal raids.

    Has nothing to do with new jobs.

    I feel like people are making a bit overmuch out of the balance issues outside of melee and PCT being overly dominant; thereafter, intra-role balance is within 3%.

    That said, I would be totally fine with forgoing new jobs for an expansion to renew what we already have.

    Or I would be, if I had any faith in them being improved by reworks. But at that point, virtually all is moot.

    No matter what they do a lot of people will be disapointed in the end.
    I like new job adjustments for the most part. Sure some needs fixes (i dont think viper's fang is an issue. the *press what is highlighted* is) like dancer geting 20 new buttons for follow up skills when other jobs got them squished into 1.
    And i definetly want more jobs. As long as they are unique and fun to play. And so far they all are.

    Absolutely pointless and unnecessary. We can have both new jobs and an overhaul of job identity (and I believe that we will). Since they have talked about things like skill trees it's also possible we could have the multiple role (tank, DPS) thing too.

    How did management of a singular debuff make the class any more enriching?

    Which seems more interesting, alternating A B A B A B, or actually having to care about what CDs contribute to a given duration in order to make time enough for a full burst?

    It's not seeing a debuff on an enemy that makes gameplay interesting. It's the foresight or rotational variance it might oblige.
