[Feedback] Data Center Travel Changes

I have friends both on my own DC and Aether, and ... it hasn't been an issue at all to play with either or both. Until the current dumpster fire, that is.

Your situation was not affected negatively by DC travel, but it did hurt a lot of other people for various reasons, and that is what my posts were trying to explain. The system was flawed from the beginning, and changes do need to be made. Its why you are struggling right now with the current restrictions. I do hope things get better for you as well. I am sorry if I came across as combative or anything like that, but it does hurt me a lot when I do get dismissed as someone who is being anti-social or even selfish. My experience really bummed me out. I can't control what people do, and I had to just watch it all sort of crumble away for an whole expansion. (That is almost 3 years.)

I'm of the opinion that cross DC PF would resolve a lot of these issues. I know for me, if there was cross DC PF, I would hardly ever have to leave my DC.

How many more times do I have to explain how I was - and still am - affected negatively? If the main venue I frequent is on Aether, and that's run by friends, then yes... this is hurting me if I can't get there at all. Please, explain to me again how that is not hurting me.

You're forced to camp there because too many of your peers decided to stay there. Thousands of players staying where they're not supposed to be for 4-24 hours a day. You may be doing the right thing, but other people say screw you and your venue, I want to AFK/do content on this world for half a day+ and treat it like my main data center, and therefore ruined it for people like you.

I debated the idea of if Square would ever put a hard timer on how many hours you could be a visitor or traveler per day before kicking your character back to the login queue where you had to log in back to your home world and you were stuck there like a deserter penalty so no 3rd party software would just let you afk mindlessly. And during periods of congestion, Home DC PvE duties will grant a free 20% XP Buff until level 90, 10% XP Buff until level 100, level 100 players get 25% extra tomes until a cap for the day.

You don't run both. You stop the main location, and change the announcement tag, your PF's, your shoutruns and your flyers to the new location. Making a new character is 1 day of leveling to reach level 50 to buy personal housing because the new worlds all have massive xp buffs. FC housing doesn't even require level 50 so it's barely a few hours just to reach grand company level to create an FC. As for progress on the FC, none of that is remotely important to baseline functionality. Your submarines/airships still exist and can be used, but don't function as a part of venue openings, same goes for crafting. The only part that is usable during an opening is the private chambers, and if your staff was paid properly, they should have their own apartment/housing instead of being reliant on the one's you had. The venue provided rooms are meant to be there for QoL, but not out of necessity. Most staff will eventually decorate their own housing for their specific type of rp anyway so a chunk of them that don't live on congested worlds are going to be fine. For the one's that are on congested places, most venues don't have more than 3-5 sessions happening at one time. Even if you were high end and had 10 sessions overlapped, cancel 1-2 openings, spend that day leveling with everyone in party that would've been at the opening anyway, and hit level 50 and be done. 5-10 characters to level 50 when you should have a staff line up of 20-30 people by the time you hit that level of concurrent demand, is not hard. Any of the staff being bought consistently opening to opening should have plenty of gil to make their own apartment/house on a non-congested world and not need to use the baseline 5-10 rooms a venue has. Not to mention they'd want their own place anyway to be able to lock the building since most have out of opening rp sessions as well that'd be affected if they were in a congested location. Most venues don't even start with more than 3-5 rooms if they have any at all. It's only a gil check. You wouldn't be out of commission for months out of necessity. You'd be out of commission for months due to laziness.

I'd be in favor of banning Travelers from the Party Finder completely, and forever. with just the exception of Private tab PF so people can remain in statics.
Or maybe even keeping the private tab PF for one tier, with the next one banning that too. I wouldn't doubt a lot of people might just put the passwords up in private.

Cross DC travel was supposed to be a way to play with your friends on other dcs. Not a way to create super datacenters, there should had never been PF for travelers in the first place.
