They did, and they still do add new weapons to a certain selection of older fights, but RDM and SAM got a better deal on a couple of fronts: they got weapons added to trials, which got dropped after that (newer jobs get dungeons and select raids), and they start at level 50 so there were no lower levels for them to miss out on.
Most likely they've stopped doing so many weapons per job because the overall number of weapons needed per fight keeps going up.
This isn't anything new either. Have a look at level 50 dungeon gear and then Heavensward crafted gear, or the Arboretum and Xelphatol dungeon gear a couple of patches apart, or for that matter ARR recycling the same few gear models for fifty levels.
Yeah, another reason I canceled. No Moogle PICT weapon.
The quality of this game has taken a nosedive.
Anyone miss zodiac weapons yet?
For the record by "lately" I mean they're just slowing down/not doing things they used to do in Endwalker, the biggest one is crafted primal weapons. And it's also so bizarre to me that they just flat out didn't include stuff from the Benchmark into 7.0's release. It had all sorts of weapons from previous raid tiers.
It's sad really, and the fans have never held SE accountable EVER, like other mmo's, even runescape has a better community team when it comes to users not being happy with something, heck they even have a polling system for things people would like to see for the future, doesn't matter if it's a small game, it's community engagement and community involvement, it makes you feel a little wanted, Yoshida LITERALLY said he didn't think we wanted more hildibrand, and from who? WHO is he getting these comments from, when everyone wanted more, same with deep dungeons when they didn't do it in Shb, same excuse "we thought you wanted a break", they have their fingers in their ears.
I won't comment much on Hildi, but I actually hated it. I also hated how it was shoved down my throat for the relic, which made me hate it even more. It should've stayed optional...It's sad really, and the fans have never held SE accountable EVER, like other mmo's, even runescape has a better community team when it comes to users not being happy with something, heck they even have a polling system for things people would like to see for the future, doesn't matter if it's a small game, it's community engagement and community involvement, it makes you feel a little wanted, Yoshida LITERALLY said he didn't think we wanted more hildibrand, and from who? I'll hold them accountable for their quality control drop and the fact that they don't pour enough into the game that is essentially their cash cow (this is probably likely SE's fault)
Might be abit tinfoily, but I think we're being milked twice
Make them fund the new game
Take away talent/devs from the current game to make new game
Make them pay for the new game while still funding our future game
They may have just found a loophole to exploit whatever goodwill people have for the devs and team. I was really hyped for FF16, but looking at EW I feel like this got soured for me personally. I won't even get started on the can of worms that is DT...
I do think if we lose Yoshida we'll be royally screwed by SE. I don't know about SE's finances but I do vividly remember the NFT letter jumpscare being such an eye opener for how out of touch corporate is and things like....Forspoken. Them increasing the development cycle for patches by 4 months while giving the same amount of content is kinda yeah nah...
Anyway, what do I know, these are just my 5head thoughts anyway. It's sad to see honestly.
SE's leadership made the baffling decision of taking the CBUs that were profitable and having them shift their talent to managerial positions and other projects despite the MMOs and mobile games being responsible for something around 90% of their revenue last year, so FF14 gets the C team while the A team manages and the B team makes the unnamed new game.I won't comment much on Hildi, but I actually hated it. Wait who's team C, A, B?SE's leadership made the baffling decision of taking the CBUs that were profitable and having them shift their talent to managerial positions and other projects despite the MMOs and mobile games being responsible for something around 90% of their revenue last year, so FF14 gets the C team while the A team manages and the B team makes the unnamed new game.
Also if the letters denote quality somehow then yeah I guess it's in line with what we got this expansion...I wouldn't be surprised honestly....
That's what I meant, yeah. Ishikawa, Koji, etc all got promoted so that they're overseeing everything CBU3/Creative Studio 3 does, and most of the talent they were cultivating are working on an unnamed game, so DT and on are largely being handled by people that were mostly assistants. I think Yoshida's said in interviews that he's barely involved at this point because he's busy with other work.
