Why is Square Enix so lazy with making weapons lately?

They add crafted glam weapons during patch content, the last of which was 6.5 for emerald as you noted. So they haven't actually missed anything as yet.

I personally am just waiting for the crafted versions of the Windswept weapons like the battleaxe.

Ever since I farmed Seat of Sacrifice during ShB for the mount, I've been hanging on to the the crafting material drops I got while doing it, since I was sure we'd get some crafted weapons at some point.

Yeah... Those have been gathering dust on a retainer for... almost four years now? I thought for sure we'd have all of the ShB EX crafted weapons by now.

GNB and DNC should have Nidhogg, Alexander (x3), Warring Triad (x3), Susano, Tsukuyomi, Four Lords (x3) and Omega (x2) weapons, but don't
RPR and SGE are missing Shinryu, Tsukuyomi, Four Lords (x3), Omega (x2), Titania, Hades, Warrior of Light, Weapon Trials (x3) and Eden (x2) weapons
VPR and PCT meanwhile released without Hades, Warrior of Light, Weapon Trials (x3), Eden (x2), Hydaelyn, Endsinger, Four Fiends (x3) or Pandaemonium (x2) weapons...

Probably some I've missed but that's that much bleaker if so, isn't it...?

People have to remember that the sub they pay is not going into FF 14. All the sub money and all the money you give them through retainers, name changes etc. and buying the expansions gets put into Square Enix itself and then the FF 14 has to go to the upper management and ask for small amount of moneys to develop the game further. Every time they do that they have to explain why they want to do it and how much money it might make. The only money that the FF 14 can keep is the money from the Mogstore Items.

And as sad as it is, they most likely can not really motivate upper management to give them money to develop weapon glams as that is not a feature they cann sell to them as something that draws in new players and more money.

It is pretty disappointing and I hope one day they'll go back and add new weapons for the old trials, as much as I don't think they will
Tsukuyomi dancer weapons would be very pretty, as I imagine it could resemble the full and new moon
Moogle pictomancer weapon would also be very cute to see
