Sena Bryer is right: the hatred that Smile gets is highly problematic

To be honest, I was very disappointed with Dawntrail and even more so as it progressed. A lot had to do with how the story was centered on Wuk Lamat, and also the VA. I kind of grit my teeth and powered through it because I love this game and I wanted to give it a chance, thinking maybe I was just not getting it or maybe it was going to get better and all come together. But as we went deeper into things, it became apparent that it was only going downhill. This was my honest opinion while having no clue whatsoever as to who the actual VA was. Even after someone had mentioned her, I still had no idea about any of her personal story. And when I heard her mentioned as a "trans woman", a term which I detest since she should be referred to as simply a woman without any qualifier, I quite frankly still thought that the character and acting just didn't work. SE just missed the mark on this exp plain and simple. Nothing personal, it can't always be 10/10 and granted this phase of the story is tricky as it moves away from everything we've been through with these characters that we've come to love. With respect to a fine voice actress who I'm sure has done other good work in other good roles, this was not one of them.

I am a man. That is all I know, all I have been, and all I ever will be. There is no way I could ever call myself a woman and not be a complete and utter fraud. This is something I know in my heart to be true. One might understand how someone like me could view this whole trans "thing" with some incredulity. I was raised to be polite so I will call a person what he or she wants, but I can't truly believe it. It would be like trying to tell me that the sky is green and water flows uphill--it's a logical twist that my mind can't make. I won't apologize for who I am, just as I won't expect anyone else to apologize for who they are. Again, I will be respectful, but I am not going to walk on eggshells, afraid of offending a person with the wrong pronoun, especially when that person has no qualms about leveling baseless, hateful accusations on others for simply not liking a particular song.

All that being said, if you are trans, that does not mean I can't love you as a person. It does not mean we can't be friends. It certainly does not mean that, at the very least, we can't be civil to each other. In the end, we are just playing avatars in a video game. If you're healing me in a dungeon, it doesn't matter a hill of beans to me who you are behind your monitor; all I see is a catgirl, or a dragon girl, or a bunny girl, just as you only see me as a gray-skinned 7'3" monster woman. I do my best to be a decent person, and as long as you are doing your best, we'll get along just fine. It doesn't have to be any more complicated than that.

The first two threads regarding VA were totally fine. Most of replies are genuine critcisms and endorsements towards VA performance. They were healthy threads until some people get super mega offended by "he" pronouns. Thus, derailment ensued.

The discussions could have continued if people ignore pronouns as they normally do to grammatical error and misspelling.

Well firstly, saying "he" when you have already seen or been told that is wrong is not a "grammatical error." Nor is use of "heshe." Nor is use of "(((she)))," especially if you are internet-poisoned enough to know that last one's origins.

But I'm more stuck by the second problem with your post: it was MY post. Your whole comment here is just stealing the point I was making that you and others disagreed with earlier. I had said earlier that misgendering or running cover for those who do it are making your arguements weaker. It also sends support to the victims and legitimizes their status. All I got for a response was "bad argument lul pronouns mad."

Nobody is forcing you to dive on these grenades for people who make you look bad and help the person this topic was about; they get to come out in a stronger social position. Letting go of the aggrievement-culture nonsense and not taking shots for people purposefully denigrating minority groups could have made any points about Sena so much more salient, but that isn't the thread you wanted.

Regardless of whether you think the song is good or bad, genre wise it feels like they shoved a Lion King / High School musical song into a game that is closer to Lord of the Rings in terms of story / target audience. It is jarring, it does not fit, and it would fit just as well in a montage in LOTR or Harry Potter in the middle of one of their movies or during the credits.
