I actually really like the Tuliyollal music. It just so happens to be right up my alley.

Does it fit a city like Tuliyollal, though? No. I never thought so.

That's more or less my issue with it. Otherwise I enjoy it. It sounds like home to me (speaking personally here).

2024 is literally insufferable. How is this even a discussion? It's a crap song, the vocals sound off, it just isn't up to the caliber of 10 previous years of songs from CBU3.

The fact that it tries to pressgang you into SMILE and enjoy things directly after the most divisive MSQ experience to date is just icing on the cake.

Not everything is identity politics. I get enough of this in daily news in real life and it's tiresome enough there, I do not need it in a video game where we run around as cats and dragon people. It isn't relevant.

I like the Tuli night theme a lot, though I think both day and night sound out of place. But that cover you linked is really enjoyable.

To me, the train bomb version of Smile was just a giant miss. There are notes that AKINO struggles to hit, and I was forced to turn down the music; which is a shame because she did a great job with Scream. Obviously where it's played is ludicrous (whenever I see the train scene, I just imagine Ted Kazinsky listening to it in his shack while working), and the Disneyfication of the song just makes it insufferable. Maybe if we were having a Kingdom Hearts crossover event it would've been a better fit.

Edit: Found another train bomb version of smile by the same creator above. It's still not perfect, but I think it's a lot better than what we got in game. Never a song has been so out of place in FF14 and i don't see any situation where i want to hear that shit in the game (even during the dawnservant ceremony it felt weird).

For the people that get upset because this person imply heavily you might be racist for not liking the song, let's take a step back and see it for what it is : An unhinged, attention seeking, unprofessional rookie that act like she has been in business for decades, her ego is so unwarranted it's hilarious, almost as much as her "performance".

To make an analogy, if a drunk crackhead shout at you for no reasons, are you gonna get offended and start an argument with them ? I know i won't, because they are a crackhead and they are drunk.
