If I tell you that I'm black and I also hate Smile and Wuk, would you feel better?

^ Seconded. Nothing about Smile brought back memories of when I used to go to church as a kid , and definitely was not bringing back nostalgia like The Fighting Temptations. Way more Disney vibes as people already said.

Who is she that she gets to categorize this piece of music as "black" gospel music? Why bring race into a conversation where race isn't even part of the topic?
EDIT:
You do know that there are alot more instances of cultural appropriation of black music/culture because they sound really good to people of other cultures right? And why must I like it just because it been labeled "black" by a white person?
EDIT:
Was there bigotry with the indian inspired music during endwalker?

It's got to be frustrating that so many people are fabricating these narratives to drum up controversy and then act outraged on your behalf when you're far more than capable of speaking for yourself. I'm sorry you have to deal w/ that. I wish we could all just get along.

In politics, normal or identity, we're just another vote, donor, consumer, or affirmer to people like this. They will praise "black culture" all night and push for more inclusivity all day, but the moment I or someone like me speaks up in the contrary to the fact that we're just being pandered to harder than toy commercials pander to children, we're ignored... in the best case. It's got to be frustrating that so many people are fabricating these narratives to drum up controversy and then act outraged on your behalf when you're far more than capable of speaking for yourself. I would like to be recognized as a person, not a statistic, please.
This whole thread is undeniably more bait than a bloodworm on a hook, but even bait can serve to normalize something... or I guess, reinforce something abhorrent that is already normal.

That's what irritates me the most. They will use you as a shield when you agree to them, but should you disagree with them, you'll be the first one they throw under the bus. All the hard work done for equality, trashed. All because they got a taste of what it's like to be the "Protected Class", and got a taste of the so called "Privilege" they falsely accuse straight white males still have. It blows my mind how some don't realize they are being pandered to by these "Consultant Companies", just to keep getting support. They can't see they are being USED, these companies don't actually give a CRAP about those they claim to represent. They are vile extortionist who use the people they claim to represent for personal gain.In politics, normal or identity, we're just another vote, donor, consumer, or affirmer to people like this. To me, that the bigger problem with those kinds of Keyboard warriors. They just care about pushing their victims mentality, using others as their swords and shields, all while ignoring the people they claim they fight for opinions. In politics, normal or identity, we're just another vote, donor, consumer, or affirmer to people like this.
