Depending on the PF and who makes it can sometimes determine how the duty gonan go. Most of the PF i join for learning or farming have the "leave salt at teh door or chill farming" with a lot of "Oh shit i fucked up" and getting called out, but in a very funny way

i thought you was gonan say it was the Ebay of ffxiv but Craigslist is funnier

And ... for good reason?
- I remember joining a week 1 M2S clear party and saw a dude in (700) tome gears with zero meld. And the reason why I checked because another person asked why they didn't pop food. I left before the first pull. Yes, you can say someone was being toxic, but I don't think that someone is me.
- You have no idea how soul crushing it is to wipe to +- 1% enrage than see half of the party say "oh guess I can start potting now". Of course, 10/10 times that party will never get there again. And for all I know it'll be probably another 5-10h before I can get an actually clear, while I could have get that clear right there and then.
Starting this tier I have seen some enrage group starting checking progress and replace even before zoning in? I haven't gone that far yet because I rarely if ever make my own PF, and you may call it Toxic but I say good for them. After all I'm tired of Johny Bee Bee joining enrage party and obviously cluessless about half of the mechanic.
You're trying to frame the "reaction" to an issue as problematic, instead of asking why the reaction came to be. Why are you asking for respect and courtesy toward people who obviously possess none of those toward others? Even if someone check your gears, surely it would have caused zero issue if you had done what "courteously" expected of you?

Because the community both demands and expects you to carry them thru savage, as you have to in normal contentAnd ... for good reason?

mfs talk about positive in PF lmao, you can play however you want but once you join PF you have to be responsible for the whole party. No pot no food, low level gear without melding is the fastest way to get blacklisted in japan data center.
I've had a similar experience on M2 too, but the interaction was chill. Picto had no materia set and we were hitting enrage, someone pointed it out, picto asked if it would really help (was really broke), and then that someone proceeded to calmly explain that yes and why. We ended up having more leeway in the dps and clearing a few pulls afterward. And ... for good reason?

Sometimes people just do not know, yet they are skilled enough to clear. It happens, and it's why doing it the chill way goes far. At worst I just leave and take my chances somewhere else.
It's a million times better than wow pugs, and you'll mostly only hear horror stories here since people rightfully want to convey their frustration.Listen, I know it gets used as an excuse way too often, but this genuinely sounds like 100% what I used to deal with in WoW PUG raids. And you did say this was your experience recently. Has party finder always been like this? From the little bit I've heard from people who have used it, it was mostly positive.
But one person watching what everyone else is doing like a hawk and constantly complaining about it in chat sounds like word for word exactly my experience in WoW lol. I guess we'll see if things improve when the new WoW expansion comes out or maybe, sadly, the FFXIV might just be like this now, I hope not.
Where wow pugs are worse than monkeys, ffxiv pfs are scholars by comparison.
There are some bad apples in pf, but I don't even try to engage or reason with them or their toxicity, I pack and go somewhere else, no matter what it's about or who is concerned.
What it's always been like for years in my experience is the party lead kicking people for "being bad" but not telling them beforehand and then talking shit about them after kicking them.
When that happens I just leave the party.
If you're not in the right mindset, if you're frustrated, just take a break. The fight will always be there, you don't NEED a week 1 clear because you are most definitely NOT a world first racer or anything if you're PFing fights and don't have a static.
