It's the only fight in DT i don't like, and I always express that sentiment in party chat when I end up in that dungeon, and every single time, at least 2 people agree, and nobody contradicted it even once. So it seems the boss is universally disliked by the player base, for the reasons mentioned here: because the hitbox is unclear, it feels random when you get caught and when you are not.

Similar for me, except I did have one person once say they actually liked the fight...

It was the tank who was constantly getting grabbed and eating mechanics, who only survived because of tank privilege and me spamming heals on them.

There's nothing wrong with that boss. The adds are essentially just a bunch of untelegraphed exaflares, the type of AOE that people struggle the most with eyeballing. It was the same story during the Fall Guys collab. There were endless complaints about the bombs on the final stage, but they were incredibly fair once you understood how they move. Not once did I get hit by something I didn't deserve to get hit by, and it's no different in Strayborough.

I like that boss a lot. In general, this game has too much scripted dance choreography, and not enough randomness and improvisation. By that metric it's probably one of the best dungeon bosses in the game, and the level that every other boss should aspire to.

This fight is super annoying. I like harder fights but this one is so grating.

It's the frequency of it that makes it annoying. Like it just keeps going and going. It'd be different if the field wasn't small or if there wasn't any other mechanic going on. But there's a chasing AoE and a pizza slice mechanic to do.

And trust me when I say that bad players mixed in with the run makes this dungeon kind of miserable.

Don't forget the outward explosion AOEs.

The fight is downright obnoxious, especially if you're unfortunate enough to be a melee DPS. I've found as melee you basically have to stop DPSing for the most part halfway through the fight just to dodge all of the mechanics properly, which is extra punishing as melee because if you get caught near the center it's a death warrant for all of the AOEs that double stack. And they just keep going on and on without a break once they start triggering.

It's unfortunate, that duty is overall one of the most interesting, and creative aesthetically, and narratively in the entire game, and yet the miserableness of collision mechanics detracts from what is otherwise a touch of greatness.

The adds would be fine if they were happening some of the time with clear windows inbetween, but they're just relentless.

Alternately, maybe it would be better if they were sturdy but killable, so you could choose to have the party divert from the boss to get rid of a few adds to make the fight easier.

I feel like sometimes I'm the only one who enjoys this fight.

What gets people the most (me included) is that the adds actually lunge at you if you're in front of them. Their hitbox isn't problematic and pretty small unless you're in front, and it's better to imagine that it's elongated that way if it helps you deal with them.

I don't disagree though, the fight feels obnoxious to go through.

I enjoy it. I just also see the reason why some don't, because of ping or other issues.

Fall Guys had a massive problem with ping, so does this. It's an interesting fight but with how the game is, stuff like this sometimes doesn't work.
Also best dungeon boss? Not even close.
