it/its - 14 accessibility is bad, ease of access is not accessibility, jobs are boring. Transphobia ruins real attempts at criticism and it's whack.
What about my reply bothered you so much?
Damn, I can't imagine having hatred towards groups who are playing how they like and minding their own business.

Savage can still be fun even if you know the moves to the dance because then you have the practice to perfect the moves to the dance. Blind prog is also fun. I did that last week with my static. I've progged ahead of them so this week I'm helping them with weak spots if they want help or helping preserve their blind experience if they don't. But it doesn't mean I'm having any less fun because I'm working with them on a fight I know and cleared.
Hector strats
The thing about fun is that it's highly subjective. The fights in FFXIV are choreographed dances and not everyone is able to figure out the steps on their own. Unless the fight design changes to make things more unpredictable, guides will be the way to go. Failing over and over because you don't get an obscure mechanic is something a lot of people, myself included, don't enjoy.
The static that I'm in likes to watch different guides and then pick and choose, sometimes also modify, until we find a strat that works for us and I wouldn't have it any other way.
In Hector's defence, he was just a dude doing stuff for his static and then realised "I should probably put this on YouTube". He's basically doing a public service by putting stuff he'd be making out there for others to benefit from.
I understand the frustration of wanting to do stuff blind and not being able to. I finished DT MSQ about 3 weeks after the expansion dropped and I wanted to go into the final trial semi-blind. I was fortunate enough to have people drop into PF who were cool with letting me mess up and have that first-try experience.
But if I went into DF I wouldn't expect the same, ya know?
A static dedicated to blind prog def sounds like the best bet.
He's not the best, but he's fairly easy to follow. Nowhere near as convoluted as Mr. Happy, so I'm glad someone dethroned him.
