I greeded AA today to not drift, got knocked back weird and broke the platform on the healer and tank, oops. And yeah new battery kinda sucks. We're drowning in it and queen timings are awful compared to EWHave you tried being knocked over when queen is out, especially when she's about to execute pile bunker? 11/10, would recommend. Best part is you can't know exactly when you're gonna be targeted by the boss, and holding during the whole duration screws so bad with the obnoxious battery plans we have in DT anyway...
We all know the devs are not a fan of "bringing back old".
They like create something from the ashes of past job designs and make it worse. Look no further than AST.
Honestly, I wish that they would just rework the job from ground up and make the job without any remnants.
Wildfire needs to go. It's not really an interesting mechanic and it doesn't feel satisfying to use.
MCH has two abilities that can't crit, Flamethrower and Wildfire, which is weird considering that they've been making skills that have auto crit/dhit.
I'm not saying that it should have auto crit, just to be able to crit.
Careful what you wish for. That's exactly what they did with ShB MCH (current MCH), and see where it got us.
Are you serious? Wildfire is the core identity of the job and that's the only remnant that has never gone for good. Maybe it's not as satisfying to pull as it used to be, but it still is better than nothing. In an ideal world with the hypercharge stacks we have now, I'd kill to get back the old damage based wildfire though.
People have such a weird obsession with WF and FT critting where in reality it doesn't even affect its gameplay... But sure, I do agree, I'd like both to be able to crit.
If split shot or blazing shot, or even full metal field aren't "gun sounds" enough, I don't know what to tell you... But I do agree that animations like slug shot are a little gun-magey.
As for bard, I actually do love the flashy pitch perfect and refulgent arrow and I do genuinely think they have some of the best sounds in the game. Oh and the good old empyreal arrow "pewpew".
I could not agree with you more. Wildfire is the heart and soul of MCH. It needs to become an auto crit direct so that MCH doesn't grief crit buffs but to get rid of it would destroy any job identity we have left.Careful what you wish for. That's exactly what they did with ShB MCH (current MCH), and see where it got us.

Damage based Wildfire would be great to have back but jrs not going to happen sadly. I just wish they didn't add the hard cap of 6 GCD's because some clever MCH's managed to find some fun opti with chainsaw and hypercharge to get 7.
I'd love them to remove the 6GCD cap because I do enjoy that double hypercharge back to back tech to put 7 inside. However the main problem right now with it is that it's completely tied to your combo filler and you need to be combo neutral when entering wildfire (no combo step engaged) else you'll drop the combo. It would be fine if you had more control over it, but with the current kit it's not possible to do it for every 2min burst, and it's tied to skill speed and the only wiggle room you have is moving a drill ahead or delaying it before the burst, but then it also changes the next 2min segment. All of this tends to turn that kind of tech into essentially spreadsheeting the whole rotation which is not exactly fun.
Full metal field would work better as a proc after sending out automation queen and have it's damage scale with the battery too. With that I wouldn't sometimes feel the need to use scattershot instead of my single target combo for heat gain because I can just wait for air anchor or chainsaw to max out my battery instead.
It's really awful that MCH has so much optimisation and weird strats to do the best possible damage but you still end up barely doing damage. Isn't like the current best machinist parse doing the same amount of damage as a level 70-80 PCT parse?
Jobs like MCH & DT DNC are why combos need to he increased to 35 seconds.I'd love them to remove the 6GCD cap because I do enjoy that double hypercharge back to back tech to put 7 inside.
