I wouldn't be surprised, though I do believe if he left completely we'd be royally screwed because he's in a way shielding us from the shit that SE might have in store. I'm still puzzled by their decisions in EW and I've been watching from the sidelines wondering if they want to run it to the ground. I lost faith in the writing but I believed in the 'devs', but they really messed up this graphical update. I'd like to be able to play the game minus the eyestrain. Why am I getting microstutter in alliance raid despite passing the recommended specs....amogst other things.

Guess we'll wait and see how they handle this. I remain disappointed honestly...

Literally none of that is new for the company or even really the game. Job complaints, MSQ complaints, mobile apps?

I think the lack of QoL improvements and most importantly: still being in the Heavensward launch formula (which was lackluster in 2013) is the problem more than anything else with Dawntrail. There's a real lack of passion from the director is on display when the game is screaming for reiteration.

With the announcement of the FFXIV mobile app, the poor MSQ decisions and other bad decisions around class changes (there is also a lot of criticism about difficulty levels either being too easy or too difficult across encounters).. I started wondering if Square executives are forcing their decisions into the game while YoshiP is becoming more of a figurehead.

Maybe the game is getting too big for him to oversee things or is the company telling him what he has to put into the game.

If he is making all these decisions, I'd want to ask how and why.
