She doesn't have the inflections latin americans normally have when speaking, not even by going with "neutral latam voice overs" standards.
The fact that the director heard that and went "Yeah, this meets my standards" speaks very poorly of them.
But on a side note, I do want to point out that the JP voice actor deserves appreciation. Going shoulder to shoulder with an industry beast like Ono with only 9 roles under her belt, she truly tried her best and it shows, specially considering the character she was handed.
