We really should be able to glamour other jobs' sets

Just let me wear what I want with whatever class and /or job if I'm the right level to do it. And please, let me use my miqo'te loincloth with my viera char. She was a miqo'te before and she owns it. Lightning used it in FFXIII why can't my viera use it too?

Turns out Honey B. Lovely is wearing not only a mix of Healing and Aiming but also DoH AF gear, so I don't see why we should be exempt. It's no more sacred than any of the other gear in the game, clothes are clothes (armour is armour, where applicable)

The npc hypocricy should have been the nail in the coffin for the glamour restrictions. But unfortunately every time people have asked yoshi about removing it they've soft balled the question...

At this point, I wouldn't be surprised if there are more NPCs using mixed gear than those with only same-role equipped. It's kind of annoying because this shows they're fully aware of how much better glamour becomes once you remove the role restrictions.

As a healer main, and male roe. Robes have almost never looked good on me. The purgatory top was one of the first real healer tops that I felt was "yeah this is nice".
As pointed out, sure a black mage in plate would look weird, but we already have armors like that for them PLUS if someone wants to be an armored mage why not?
Clerics exist, they're just a paladin that is also a white mage. What about the "rookie adventurer" trope. Where the rookie buys the finest armor that doesn't match his class at all. If it's not impossible then why not give us the freedom? no worse than jumping into a dungeon with a meme roe wearing the banana hammock and a chocobo mask.

Just wanting to add my support for this and would be very happy to see it. My favourite approach Wildstar(RIP, I miss you) took was basically that if you obtained the item you can use it freely as a glam/transmog, with the only exception being the weapon slot. It's been awhile since I played WoW, but I believe they're generally in the same boat to some degree.

The "identity" or silhouette arguments haven't been relevant for a long time and as others have said, the official statement is contradicted by NPCs, comedic glams(like snowmen and beavers), the MTX store outfits, and countless examples of plate armor black mages can wear as a direct counterpoint to the official statement.

I know I'm pretty new to FF14(hallo, nice to meet ya), but also from what I understand of the lore we(warriors of light) have become known to master various different jobs/classes on a single character. Many of which from my understanding have some shared history and connection to each other in some way.

I don't think most people want to see male Hrothgar in the female Viera set.
