I loved FF9, even though I thought Kuja was a girl, til I found out he isn't. That was very awkward. However, ff9 didn't make you guess at 89% of their characters genders. Just one. When I see characters in game, I'm very often unsure of their gender until i get closer. Most bunboys look like women, which is fine, but too much of anything is well... too much. In the situation with FFXIV, they're leaning TOO HARD towards all this whatever it is, so much that its turned into neglect, maybe even oppression of a certain demographic. So much for DEI. It's DEI for everyone EXCEPT that demographic. You know, the OG core of the damn franchise. The REAL LIFERS. Sadly, I'm in that demographic and I know better than to speak plainly about the truths surrounding this hypersensitive topic, and as such the point and problems can never be clearly be communicated, let alone addressed, because we get attacked, outcast, witch hunted, ganged up on, banned, abused. Funny how the people who act abused are actually the abusers. Every so many years, everything gets flipped on its head. Now the 'oppressors' who weren't actually oppressing anybody are being oppressed by hate crime victims that are actually modern age bullies.

its not an airport. you dont have to anounce your departure.See title.
- Bought FFI for NES as a kid.
- Bought a Playstation in college just to play FF VII.
- Played both FFXI and FFXIV at NA launch.
- Own all FF main series games and most spinoffs up to and including the PS4, CIB, (including original Japanese FC and SFC games).
- Stopped playing new FF games after playing FFXV, when the series turned into DMC/Souls-like fast-twitch-based games.
- Discontinued FFXIV subscription and will not be purchasing the upcoming Dragon Quest remasters or Sieken Densetsu due to EXTREMELY poor wiring in DT, as well as Western wokeness and DEI infesting SE corporation-wide.
~fin~
good riddance!
I still need someone to properly explain this whole 'woke' concept to me. I'm completely unaware of what it entails and what you all are referring to. Perhaps this ignorance is a blessing, but as a Canadian who doesn't follow 'whatever the masses are thinking and doing,' I can't help but feel utterly perplexed and bewildered by the mentality and statements of so many individuals.
Meh i bet guy just all talk, give it a week and look at his ingame character then whisper him, i bet its still there lol
This is like the usual "boo game is bad i wont buy it i swear" then prooced to buy 2 copy of the game

This is a major tenet of modern leftist thinking; they want to bring thoughtcrime out of fiction and make it a part of everyone's daily reality. Just look at China's social credit system. If it was up to Blackrock, Vanguard, State Street, and Democrats, it would be instituted worldwide, and those who oppose their beliefs would be sent to reeducation camps, (link to article).

Wow.... Please can you NA keep your "politics" and complotism out of this forum please. This is a major tenet of modern leftist thinking; they want to bring thoughtcrime out of fiction and make it a part of everyone's daily reality. We don't give a.... about it.

Localization is a significant issue, and Kathryn Cwynar is a major contributor to the decline of the game. This is how I imagine it went after she was promoted in the lead up to the SB release.I doubt the same trends in western games will pop up in XIV. It's a JP game that isn't interested in Western social issues, if that stuff does pop up it's like a 99% chance of being a localisation thing.
They have their own societal issues that are completely removed from western ones, we are more likely to see those pop up in the game then our societal issues.
