Can we please have a definitive answer regarding Hats for both Viera and Hrothgar

Personally, though this would likely mean far too much extra work, I think it would be ideal to have an option to either have ears appear and poke through with whatever clipping being the price you pay for seeing them. Or you can turn the ears off so you just see the helm on the head without ears, ideal if you have a character trying to hide their ears.

Before anything, I would like to clarify that this isn't in any way shape or form an attack on the developers, company or game, and if as a player you do not care about this problem, please be kind with what you write, as this is very important to a lot of people.

This topic has been swept under the rug and not addressed for a very long time, and I honestly think the Players deserve better, we at least deserve a Definitive Answer to this issue and topic.

and yes, it is regarding the currant and ongoing issue with hats still being a problem for Both Viera and Hrothgar..


It honestly makes me Question why is an MMORPG game in 2019-2024 adding a race without making sure its 100% ready.. and if hats were never going to be wearable by both races.. why not just say it? instead of keeping us hopeful to each patch only to end up getting disappointed.


Please Square Enix, give us an answer.

How about the unique way of not being able to wear hats in general, I think it is a really nice feature as it is, that not just have to be able to wear whatever any other specie is, as it is, if hats is so important to you, pick roeg, hyer, miqote or whatever instead....

As Hrothgar myself, then I like it not having to be like everyone else and also most hats would look stupid on both hrothgar and viera.

What kills me is that there's mods allowing for the hats. You can go on nexus right now and get mods that fixes 99% of head pieces for both. So why tf can't SQ do the same???

Unfortunately japanese culture wouldn't allow them to hire/buy that hat mod. Meanwhile american/western developers officially endorse modding or specific mods and aren't shy about officially endorsing them.

square enix forgets that it was modders that fixed ffxi into a playable state.

If there's any mod they should be it should be viera's/hrothgar's hat mod. The fact that they haven't done so is an incredible blunder by them and makes one wonder if they really care about those who play viera/hrothgar. going into 6 years next year of no hats makes one wonder if those next "10 years of ffxiv" are really worth it.
