I don't need some college graduate white lady to write a woman of color ( something I have a lot of experience with being, thank you very much.)

Have you ever noticed how back in the day, no one ever complained about characters? People loved Barrett, Dom (from gears of war), Cole Train (same series), etc etc. Diversity is amazing and we want more of it, but not at the expense of well written and likable diverse characters. I would've loved to have gotten to see more of my actual culture in Dawntrail, instead of it being reduced to "tacos, cenotes, ponchos and jungles."

Why is it that games that feature inauthentic people of color are constantly flopping? Redfall, Zau, Forspoken, Concord, etc... people want believable characters that actually represent them, not whatever some company checklist says represents them. :/

So I don't always dismiss people who complain about DEI, because there's generally an actual argument in why they believe in what they do that isn't just "omg I'm a racist".

Now I know you're nothing but bla bla bla words because even back then I knew people that didn't like how ff7 og barret was just mister T , to the point remake barret has been praised tor giving him more depth and leaning more into his revolutionary angle , qlso no one gives a shit about gears

I know people complaining about Dei are full of shit when they tried to blame the Francis Scott key bridge collapse on a black mayor over "woke dei mayor???!?" , absolute deranged up-their-bum freaks
