In the second half of the story, Kona doesnt even KNOW the events that truly unfolded. Why wasnt he brought in about the endless? He mightve actually come up with a suggestion to save them without the need to require lifeforce.

Also, why did Wuk Lamat suddenly get echo powers to break through a non-existent shatter-shield the same way Zenos did in Endsinger?? Like LOL??? "SPHEEEEENNNNEEEEEE"

My dude, we didn't help her at all during her character growth. We were there for combat and that's it. As a character we were a non-entity.

She has to be the driving force.

Characters have previously been the driving force of the story without completely sidelining every other character in the protagonist's team.

I think the actual problem is this: Dawntrail is too short.

This I definitely agree on. Everything needed more room to breath. As much as I enjoyed the void quests in EW, those patches (or at least 6.4/6.5) should have been spent on DT build up instead of just 6.55. Everything is FAR FAR too compressed and it all suffers because of it.

I will say for probably the 4th or 5th time, I don't hate Wuk Lamat, I hate what the story did with her. There were multiple occasions where both the writers and scene planners undercut the competency of the character for no narrative pay-off and not enough to counter-balance it. Yes, every character should have their flaws, but the story needs to address those flaws, and I feel like Dawntrail never really did. At best they were hand-waved.

With a few very minor tweaks she could have been a character people at-worst felt mildly perturbed with being present.

There were so many issues with the entire narrative. It really felt like they gave the story to interns who were JUST hired and told them "make a final fantasy xiv story in 1 week". And this was the end result lol.

It's scary how piss poor Hiroi did. He's been on the team for years and it seems like he didn't know any of the story at all.

It's almost as if Hiroi was drunk writing this while eating skewers, and submitted it thinking "lol no one is ever gonna go for this". And when Yoship submitted it to the department, started panicking like "oh crap. Crap crap crap. I MEANT IT AS A JOKE. I DIDNT THINK THEYD ACTUALLY GO FOR THIS. OH NO OH NO OH NO OH NO OH NO".

I am still in the beginning.... but I am getting the feeling DT is more about my search for the City of Gold than Wuk Lamat.

Maybe that changes... if it does, they could have kept the focus on your search, with Wuk being an important side character. (Like Indiana Jones)
