While it's a neat idea I sadly feel we need less homogenization, not more. While you could say that the application of NG was close to DD from RPR, it was ultimately different in the way it as applied and the tight timings of the buff since it's cannot be reapplied in Reawaken. The best course of action would be to just bring NG back but goodness knows we're just talking to deaf ears at this point.

I'm in complete agreement with believing we need less homogenization, not more. I think in my brainstorming I just went to what I figured would be the more likely scenario between SE giving back something that was taken away, or coming up with something similar but less cumbersome. I can't think of a time when SE just gave something back that was completely removed simply because the community wanted it. Has that ever happened?

Though if I'm being completely honest with myself (and pessimistic) I think the most likely scenario is SE just does nothing and we have to live with the way it is now.

I want to believe, but after the dev answer to the whole Kaiten fiasco was "pls give it a chance" and then disappearing off the face of the earth, reverting job changes due to fan blowback seems like a thing of the past

Considering by Yoshi-P's own admission that the removal of Noxious Gnash was not due to any player feedback at all, I would say yeah. Making any job changes at all based on player feedback may be a thing of the past.

I wish Viper had some poisons they could apply as their utility and a proper non targeted gap closer more akin to Bard's backward leap. If not a gap opener, defensive skill to reduce damage.
