Housing lottery system takes entirely too long and is poorly designed.

It is not difficult to get a house in FFXIV. There is an overabundance of housing on the four new Dynamis DC servers. If player housing is that important to you, then you need to transfer to one of those servers. You shouldn't have joined a well established server expecting to have easy access to the housing system.

I've been playing in Leviathan since beta.

I'll be damned I switch servers just to appease a function of this game that should be provided to all.

Stop allowing fake accounts, bot accounts, and shell-FCs from placing bids.

So any new player that comes to the game shouldn't have a hope of getting a plot any times soon?

The community asked for a fair chance at getting a plot they got one.It's not the dedicated few you're competing against anymore, but the casual many that asked to be considered for. And they got exactly that.

HOUSING is provided to all who want to participate in it. So you can't say that a housing is unavailable to you.

The game doesn't grant you a PLOT. But nobody was granted one.

Take a few deep breaths, Mako, you're gonna get yourself banned from the forums continuing like that. After doing some digging, it looks like it's only been two lottery cycles since your llama FC reached the 30-day age requirement to enter. It's ok to lose some lotteries initially on a well-established server like yours, even when you stack the odds in your favor. Just keep at it, with 13 bids each time you will surely succeed sooner rather than later.

You also really ought to apologize to Solowing for those hurtful remarks, Mako. Shame on you for taking out your own personal frustrations on others.

The solution to shell FCs is to detach the workshop from FC houses. Make it a room at the headquarters of whatever GC the FC is associated with.

It wont make a dent in availability. You highly underestimate those who are collecting specific plots. The Subgil is just a bonus on top to fuel those desires.
Those plots wont magically abonded if your suggestion would become reality.

I agree 100% that most who have a house for their shell likely will not give it up. But it will cut down on the problem in the future.

Its ok he can be upset. But he wasn't there for when Apts didn't exist and if you didn't have an FC/Personal plot you COULDNT do housing. The demo timer didn't exist, and Wards were just empty plots who's owners had no intention of coming back anytime soon, if at all.

We got the demo timer, and did player complain? No, why would they feel bad for somebody who quit a year ago losing their house?

But it didn't releases houses fast enough and players were still locked out of housing. In come Apartments. Hm..They are smaller but also arnt tied to the demolish timer, fair trade off.. (before BDTH and lofting became a thing 100 slots were reasonable, our standards rose with our knowledge how to exploit the system.)

Then people with not much time to play/slower reflexes/travels alot felt they didn't have a fair shot to get a plot, (especially after shirogane released, anyone who didn't take the day off or disconnected after logging in was SoL and wasn't getting a plot 15 minutes after servers went live)

So they added in a hidden timer. But emergent gameplay became to click a placard for 16 hours a day or set a bot to do it to win a plot under the hidden timer and that wasn't healthy.

So here we are at the lottery. Oh you can only login once a week? Don't worry the game will give you 10 days to bid, Dont have fast reaction times? No need! take your time getting over there to bid. Worried about a bot? Botting has no outcome on a lottery because their input wont change anything.


The housing system is MILES better then what it used to be, tough pill to swallow.
