You usually don't have to negotiate with friends to receive basic respect or having your identity and preferences understood and accepted. If you have to try and negotiate for that, they aren't your friends.

It seems you're conflating casual day-to-day discussion and living with negotiation, which shows you have a premature understanding of human interactions, leading me to believe you've lived a very fortunate and stress-free life.

I'm genuinely happy for you, and I hope that continues for you. Understand however that it just doesn't work that way where actual conflicts are involved.

Yeah, the german dub was really good this time around! I also like the JP one (that's a given I feel ) and also...french. Like, I'm even surprised by this, I never listened to the game in french but I actually really really like the voices. They all feel very natural and sound pretty nice!
I'm having fun experiencing the game in different languages right now (except english, which is a shame because I adore G'rahas english Va so much...) and I can only encourage everyone to experiment a little!

While Wuk's english VA did a terrible job, it definitely feells like the English Cast was just...much worse this time around. The new american actors they got definitely did not work, and I think that the novel idea of the EN Dub of having accents has hurt it big time this time around, as they're all...very blatantly fake. Though even the scions sounded a little off - dunno. I went through most of it in JP, and I constantly ran into the issue of liking the new characters a lot more, but the Scions absolutely sounded off to me - Urianger was just so wrong. But then again he only had literally like 9 spoken lines, so...

(German dubbing as an industry is hit or miss though, according to a German friend of mine. Ranges from A+ to Ghost Stories)

French was... a little high in places? I'm not sure how to phrase it. It just didn't quite fit. Might have been how fast it was compared to English throwing it off for me.

From someone that speaks if conversationally, it's actually not that hard to pick up on, it follows a lot of core conventions from English - it just has a few funny and weird grammatical and gendering twists. If you only speak english but you speak it fluently, I'd suggest it over French or Spanish IMO.

By all means, go for it!
Surely, German is not the easiest language out there with all the weird grammatical stuff. Even people who speak it as their first language usually can't really get it right every time. xD (I say this as someone whose native language is German btw, so I know it first hand lol)
But it's actually a pretty nice language to learn, and though many say it sounds harsh to the ears, well...every language does when you scream or get loud. German can also be soft and sweet. And like Swad wrote above, if you grew up speaking English, German should be easier to learn than French, Spanish or Italian.
