Also the opening post specifically mentioned they find the group content easier because they can rely on the others to fill in in their mistakes. And I have yet to get an answer if they meant it with willing carries or just queuing to be a burden. Which makes this just as much about why it's important the solo content acts that way.
But do the solo duties actually prepare players for playing in a group?

I doubt that very much, and especially with the solo duties starting in 4.3 where we begin playing as NPC with abilities that either don't or only vaguely align with playable job abilities.

The solo duties are there as a story-telling mechanic, not to prep players for group play. Players will have already experienced the mechanics involved in the few solo duties that involve allied NPCs.

When you touched on cultural difference in your previous post, I think you hit the actual answer. There is a stark cultural difference between JP and NA.

JP has a noticeably higher completion rate in Savage than NA because success of the team is important to them. If they run into problems, including someone underperforming, they don't rage quit. They work to find ways to get past the problem together.

NA has more of a "every man for themselves" attitude. If things don't work right the first time, you quit and find another group where they might. Few players will acknowledge that they might be the problem or feel that they need to improve.

So I'd say that SE likely does have some expectation, within reason, for players to carry underperformers. It's not an absolute - vote kick and vote abandon are always there. But they want parties to at least attempt to solve problems together before giving up and that's something that a lot of NA players aren't interested in doing. They want instant gratification and success the first attempt, and that sort of attitude can hold success back because people aren't being given the chance to learn and improve.

I actually really enjoyed the challenge of the solo duty in this expac. It was a lot of fun and fairly straightforward. I felt engaged and felt rewarded when I won, which is something MSQ doesn’t usually provide.

I’m sorry that this isn’t something you have been able to enjoy. Some accessibility features might be good but ultimately they can’t cater to everyone.

A simple solution, allow people to group up for the duties.

This is an MMO game. You need to have a baseline skill expectation in order to contribute to whatever content you're doing in a group. If you are only playing for the story, I'm sure there is somewhere on youtube where you can watch the story in it's entirety. This is a video game at the end of the day, and not every video game can be played by every person in the world. That's just the nature of what makes video games fun. I know it sounds harsh, but that's just the way it is.

They should add skip option and party option. And tbh 95% of them are boring.

Seems like an irrelevant thing to bring up for solo duties. Also some people play with friends that are supportive and all that. Ironically though, MMOs originally were never about intense skill or anything, usually hard content was more about how many bodies were available. The big selling point was "online game with lots of people" because that was actually a technical feat back in the day. Anywho, still has nothing to do with group content.

I suggest playing as tank because they have more hp and defense and can survive more mistakes. PLD and WAR can just heal through the damage that they take if you make a mistake.

They seem to be referring to the solo duty "Into the Cold". (I could be mistaken, but that is generally the solo duty people complained about) A swap in class wouldn't really make a difference here I think.
Aside from that tanks have responsibilities that I am not sure this person would be able to handle consistently, I think sticking to phys range is probably the best for them

People act like physical range is somehow the easiest due to lack of cast times, but MCH and BRD are some of the highest APMs in the game. SMN is likely the easiest DPS for someone with execution issues.
