ok now you're just trollingI recognize that it's a market that uses currency. And people make this currency off of selling it to people who don't want to waste their time with it. However, what do they need this currency for, anyways? The game doesn't even have that many gil sinks. Almost every single thing you use gil for is made from crafting anyways which crafters could just make and thus won't need to buy. You can't possibly argue they need all that for teleport fees or their one-time house purchase.
If Gil doesn’t have a use in your eyes then you hate the problem with just buying this stuff rather than making yourself angry crafting itI recognize that it's a market that uses currency. For example I’ve done systems of “okay x.0 I’ll craft everything and save up materia and sell big on the savage launch, bank that money then buy all the materia for the x.1 gear rather than farming it” so the market for consumables benefits me on both ends, at one end I sell into it and store money, the other end I buy from it to save time
If they nerfed the requirements for consumables the price would crash, if they did that I would stop bothering to level my crafters as I lose the monetary incentive to be self sufficient, that causes flow on effects in other markets as for example I’m no longer drawing on the materia market
As a healer main in this game for nigh on 14 years all I can say is that I’m tired. My role has been eroded of complexity and expression for 3 expansions. I’ve watched the tanks do my role for me for 2 expansions and my feedback and critiques continue to fall on deaf ears.
I have no idea who modern healers are designed for but I know now it’s not me. This is the first expansion I’m truly considering dropping the healer role and not returning, so if that was the goal- congratulations I guess
Okay counter-offer: Reduce breakage chance of crafter/gatherer melds for overmelding if crafts are going to have to be that difficult. Though I've read before that people were petitioning to make this chance even lower though, so I figured this too would upset the casual masses.
Lmao why?
Materia is piss easy to get and again you have years to save up for it pre expansion. You might have been crafting since HW but you sure are doing it the hard way..
I was just kinda dicking around because it's a ridiculous request but here's an honest reply.
They should not change the economy because you decide you only enjoy doing 4 fights every 6 months.
I'd agree with your first point if I actually was making gil in any way from any of the content I do participate in. The only way for me to make gil is to engage in stuff I hate. And yes right now I have gil from the time I suffered through it. I hate the knowledge that if I just play the game to have fun instead of also having a fictional part-time job then I will no longer be able to play the game.If Gil doesn’t have a use in your eyes then you hate the problem with just buying this stuff rather than making yourself angry crafting it

If the price crashes then that simply means that to the people crafting it and it's still worth their time and effort to sell it. That is still a market and people who enjoy simply making money for the sake of it can still do that or move onto other things to sell. Unfortunately, there is no perfect system that makes everyone happy because of how the game has already been entrenched in this design but I believe that those who are like me and enjoy this aspect of the content shouldn't have to play the part we don't like. I'd be even more happy with just removing food and pots altogether. What if I told you that you had to go play triple triad to get your crafting mats now? Triple Triad players rejoice, your content is relevant now and you have people to compete against!
Even just doing the weekly custom deliveries would have given OP materia to meld or sell, and it takes less than 10mins per week.
If truly the only content you enjoy is endgame raiding yet the cost of consumables is a barrier to your enjoyment then I think your group is extremely niche, you can make money from battle content as well if you don’t like crafting, field content is a endless font of money if you engage with it, daily roulettes give you almost 200k a day if you run on AIN jobs, deep dungeons give almost as much money as field content, treasure maps are incredibly lucrativeI'd agree with your first point if I actually was making gil in any way from any of the content I do participate in. There is combat options to make money, if the only thing holding you to the game is literally savage and nothing else I think you just need to eat the cost of consumables as the functioning of the crafting market affects way more people

Well with extremes, criterion and ultis, it's more like 7 fights per six months. And maybe you're right that they shouldn't change it. That's a choice for Square to make and which groups they prefer to alienate, if the sub of those who only enjoy the end-game aspect of their content is worth trying to change their game for. And yeah you are with the majority as we can see a lot of us have already left. The casual base has already done a lot of damage to the content I do enjoy and probably will continue to do so. This is likely me fruitlessly yelling into the uncaring casual void.
But then when you all get your way and many of us have left, who will you sell to then? A solution will need to be made, regardless. I notice at least on my data center that raid gear has already dropped in price a lot faster from savage launch than it used to. Funny, that.
