I got Castrum Abania in roulette and we were sitting down waiting for someone at the last boss...so I decided to do what I do best, look at other people and I didn't expect to see this. Is there a hole in his hat? Where is this light that's falling on his eyes coming from. I'd submit a bug report but idk what piece of gear is that and yeah well.

Every hat is affected by this. And this error was also before 7.x. Here an older picture of my bard alt:



It is the same behavior, that the hat is transparent to light sources. But i do not think, that they will fix it.

Oh that's interesting...I never actually noticed and in your picture it doesn't look 'too jarring' to me...I never wore hats personally so I never took a closer look.

Hmmm... so it's more just that the brim doesn't cast a shadow, and maybe in that screenshot the character chanced to be on the edge of a sunlit/shadowed area.

No. The picture was made deep inside of The Roost in Gridania. The door left is the entrance. There is a light source over my head and it ignores the hat completely. It seems, that SQEX forgot to create shadow maps for hats.

I feel fairly certain they aren’t reading our feedback anymore, if they ever were reading the eng forum feedback. I reported a thread with racism and a slur in the OP and it’s still around the following day and over ten pages long. This forum is just abandoned and left as a troll playground. I’m just so frustrated because I want to stop subbing for a long time in protest but of course I finally won the housing lotto after trying to get a house for 5 years. Do I just give it up since I don’t want to play anymore with my face like this? Who knows how long it would take to win the lotto again on Balmung if they miraculously fix my face and I decide to come back??

There’s a similar issue on the table of the new Country house (at least on my small) where the light on the table goes through the table’s shadow to the ground! lol Just really feels like things were way too rushed. I wish they had taken their time and did things right.

I'd say, take the house, and maybe find some joy in decorating it even if our face is busted...I'm still hung up over it but my houses are what's keeping me from quitting entirely. They fixed the lighting inside. Then again having a house is essentially SE trapping you in the game if you want to keep it.

There's a chance that they might actually not fix our faces and it might be the 'weather it out' situation....I reported a person where they told OP to go die and the entire thread was removed the next day.
