The waste of good character

I don't think anyone can even argue that the writers were trying to make her a 'girl boss', they knowingly wrote her to be dumb but well meaning and in constant need of others' aid or opinions. ꉂ (´∀｀)ʱªʱªʱª

I think it's more of a case they either not sure what they want to write, or have commitment problem into one single archetype.

- It looks like they tried a Shonen archetype, but was too afraid to give her any real failure, so it feels like a Mary Sue character instead.

- In order to avoid looking like a straight up Mary Sue, they tried to give her some small characters flaws, but they were all feel unsubstantial and inconsequential.

They should have commit, pick one archetype and go all in, there is nothing wrong with either if done right. The half-arse commitment give us a black hole sue instead.

I think that mix of archetypes just turned her into a 'modern-day, awkward/adorkable Disney princess' with an axe. ꉂ (´∀｀)ʱªʱªʱª
I also think another issue is that the writing teams' writing has been, for lack of a better word, skewing more juvenile lately, with them trying to tackle deeper and/or darker themes and narratives but not really getting it or, like you said, not wanting to stick with any changes that would come from it, so they shallowly handwave it away.

One way there could done something interesting with Wuk Lamar is to a little girl that look exactly like Sphene. Is in fact the reincarnation of Sphene. The AI Sphene isn't Sphene it a copy of her memory and personality. A reincarnation which is what happened in this world people soul go aesthetic sea then is reincarnated. Let suppose for sake of Sphene her reflection is a dead reflection who already join this including the souls for that reflection. So find a reincarnated Sphene raise alot question who at fault with ai Sphene or the child Sphene should I raise the child Sphene or not. The WoL is an reincarnation of the one ancient who sit Anzu seat

Motherhood bring a lot of challenges it also would lessen her involvement she would adopt Sphene the reincarnation

You must really hate Sphene to ask her reincarnation to be raised by WL. And that won't work because FF14 is stuck in a time loop. They can't use a child in any kind of development because they child will never grow up. I do think they should bring Sphene back some how though, the authentic version of her. Right now the Alexandrian don't have a leader, and the whole thing where Wuk Lamat is ruling them through the proxy of a child neither making sense or sitting well with me.

Wuk Lamat is a great character. Being her retainer and following her on her journey was a nice change of pace.

i hate Wuk lamar more i would rather her raise by one of scion make more sense i wish they never made wuk lamar as the herione she worthless as character and as leader. i care about the happiness of my people your people happiness would better off rule by council with each able figure out together the need and want of your people you are Mary sue that need to go. i want ffxiv get ride of mary sue plot trop no i rather not be side characters to Wuk Lamar who if wasn't for us she won't have chance at leadership we aren't side character her we one that got her into power she shouldn't be get in way you can't save an AI of person who is dead gone. the WoL did everything for Wuk Sue she did nothing to get her self there we did all fight we did all boss fight we did everything without the WoL Wuk Sue would be dead in the dust

if WoL withdrew her support Wuk Sue would be nothing have no throne or crown.

in fact if someone did with episode 1-3 of star wars to jar jar bink remove him for stories to her it would been a better story

Ardbert is not only dead, he is super triple dead, to the point where he isn't even going to be reborn in the Lifestream. We ate his sorry butt with a sprig of cilantro and a squeeze of lemon.

He'll be as dead as the WoL will be when they die. They are the same person with a remerged soul. Both sets of memories will be washed away in the aetherial sea.
