20 posts a day simply isn't enough. Good to see that SAG-AFTRA put the breaks on any US voice actors working on XIV. Now I can just sit back and watch them strike for a few months and the patch content will be free from terrible voice acting.

I would like to take this moment to formally apologize to the British voice talent for any times I made fun of some of them for having goofy posh accents, they may sound funny but at least they sound good
Knowing how much worse it is with the Americans I can safely say: RULE BRITANNIA, BRITANNIA RULE THE VAs

the EN VA has been troubled since the 6.x patches. there is always some issue, often with Ysh. At this point i would take the JP VA just because it hopefully would be more consistent. I dont get why there is constantly some issue with the EN VA and how people repeatedly accept it. for some reason square thinks its okay to give EN a subpar experience. when thancred opened his mouth in dawntrail i thought they had replaced his va for a moment, jesus. felt like it took him a few lines to find the footing for his va role again, but why not make another take then instead of putting it like this in the game? the va is already in the booth/recording, why not make another attempt... feels like every scene got spoken exactly once and they just ran with it

WoL = Warrior of Lamat
Sena just doesn't have the range.
I've already kind of spoiled DT's story for myself by lurking on here too often (and looking up cutscenes on YouTube), but meh. I feel like I'm not missing much of the MSQ this time around, just based off of what I've seen (storywise; I'm certain the dungeons and gameplay are worth experiencing).
But, I digress. Back to the topic at hand. Like others have said, Sena's range for female characters, from what I've seen and what she herself has admitted, is limited. I could see her doing well in a minor female character role, but I personally don't think she's ready for major, high-demanding roles like Wuk Lamat just yet.
Also, here's a snippet of the German VA's performance during a scene that requires strong emotion from Wuk: (7.0 spoilers)
Just thought I'd share it, since the VA's delivery gave me goosebumps.
Thanks for sharing, German is the one dub I didn't listen to before.Also, here's a snippet of the German VA's performance during a scene that requires strong emotion from Wuk: (7.0 spoilers)

But it's amazing isn't it? When what you can perceive with your ears matches perfectly with what you perceive with your eyes.
If I can give your post more than one like, I would.
I'm glad the German dub is getting some credit here; I played the entire Dawntrail MSQ with it and I really think the German Wuk VA nailed her performance, she did a great job bringing out strong emotions when she needed to and was generally pleasant to listen to.Also, here's a snippet of the German VA's performance during a scene that requires strong emotion from Wuk: (7.0 spoilers)

For any DT English dub refugees I can vouch for German, it easily wins over the English dub for this expansion (though I have to imagine that's true for French and Japanese as well, so take your pick I guess).

Holy shit. I'm a native speaker and haven't touched the game in German for 10 years. Maybe it's time, this is actually pretty good.I've already kind of spoiled DT's story for myself by lurking on here too often (and looking up cutscenes on YouTube), but meh. Oh damn, that really is impressive. I usually watch and play all my movies/games in english, but maybe it's time to embrace my own language again.Also, here's a snippet of the German VA's performance during a scene that requires strong emotion from Wuk: (7.0 spoilers)

Dear lord that is voice acting and if I heard that level of emotion and range it would have made Wuk Lamat tolerable to even likeableI've already kind of spoiled DT's story for myself by lurking on here too often (and looking up cutscenes on YouTube), but meh.
