If you don't get why we bring up the voice director, then you're not reading our posts. We bring up the voice director because of how little VA's themselves get when voicing scenes. They do not get visual reference and they don't get any audio reference from other languages. The director has to literally create the scene for them and if they don't set it up well, you can get some pretty lackluster voice acting (you know that scene where Alphinaud jumps into the ocean and makes that weird sound? The VA had no idea that's what Alphinaud was doing). Sometimes VA's don't even know what the character they're voicing even looks like. One thing I don't get is people making excuses using the voice director.
If you're at a restaurant and have a bad meal you blame the chef it doesn't matter if they had a poor manager in the kitchen. Both suck and both need to improve or be removed. A bad job is a bad job it doesn't matter if it's your fault or not sadly that's how the world has always worked.
We also bring up the voice director because even long-lasting characters of 8-9 years (technically 10-11, but ARR is included in those years) had... questionable voice acting as well.
Disappointed in you, Karious.

Ok i'd like to ask a simple question based on some tweets the VA made
in wich she said that the voice actress for Bridget in guilty gear should step down from her role because she does not offer good representation of the character,
my question now is, why is her, a white woman, playing the role of an indigenous meso-american person, and honestly doing a sub-par job at it if you look at the other casting, EXAMPLE Koana he KILLED it
by her own logic should she step down to offer her place to someone that would do a better job and/or offer better representation ??
I didn't? You argued about people with extra chromosomes. I said such was rare, and you went off about how I'm denying trans-identity. These two are not the same thing.
It makes sense when you stop thinking of it as moral outrage and realize it's just branding.Ok i'd like to ask a simple question based on some tweets the VA made

anyone else remember the very first post in this thread?
TRANSPHOBES NOT WELCOME. THIS IS A TOPIC ABOUT BAD VOICE ACTING.![]()

Question why should I care about the va's identity?
I literally don't get why I should give a damn about people who were doing a job's thoughts on their genitals and placement in society.
What I care about is the fact they did a shitty job for a product I paid for.
If the VA wasn't trans most of you wouldn't be arguing to defend her this hard and probably arguing against her as well. This is such complete social-political brainrot over a terrible job in a product. God all of you keep on subject.
I defend her performance because I liked her performance quite a bit, and I've listened to her other work, she's fine.Question why should I care about the va's identity?

The problem I take is with the direction, because there are times when she's talking more calmly when she should be yelling, and even in this expansion we can hear that she's more than capable of putting on a convincing and satisfying yell.
