No spanish localization still, sorry central/south american region and spain, you still don't exist even for your own expansion. How about a positive comment: I applaud Square Enix for recruiting authentic Latin voices for some of the main roles, like Koana and the many other NPCs from Tural. They did a good job with the other voice actors.
I just wish they had kept that initiative with Wuk Lamat. I don't understand why they went with a fake accent for that particular character when she makes up the vast majority of the MSQ. Obviously we all support the other diversity that the actress brings to the table, but in voice acting, the way that you say things tends to matter. If you don't know how to speak an accent, it's hard to talk as though you can. Bloodline doesn't matter. I am 20% English and I speak the English language, but that doesn't mean I should be hired to talk like a British person. The actress seems to think that being 1/4th Puerto Rican by bloodline qualifies her to speak with an accent that isn't native to her.
Also, wasn't faking ethnic accents considered cancelable just a couple of years ago? What happened?
And now I'm supporting the giant soulless corporations on the hope that the strike will go on so long they'll be forced to replace Sena. Something else not on my 2024 Bingo Card.
"Sphene. Listen to me," Wuk Lamat said calmly.
"ʰᵃʰ ᶠᵒʳ ʸᵒᵘ ᵖᵃᵖᵃ" Wuk Lamat lowercase yell.
My preteen niece could write better than whatever the hell you just wrote. You seriously pressed the enter key on that?Na, you are the one who is either trolling or simple not capable of thinking.
When you fail to understand why people can indeed use the VAs gender as an argument.
People also not really hang up on the fact that the VA is trans, there are over 100 pages where people stated why they dislike the voice-acting.
What is funny tho is that people that defend the voiceacting are not capable to deliver arguements FOR the VA.
Its you guys who kept bringing up the labels and your non-sense ''bla bla hate bla bla'', because you dont have any arguements.
Which is why we have to argue against it.
Also people dislike the VA not for their gender but for the fact that the VA is a big part why the expansion is a bad experience
(Who would have thought that in a game which delivers the story through cutscenes needs good VAs to make it good) and because the VA is a not a good person.
So It would be highly appreciated when you guys could stop defending the VA just because they are a T.
Dude here talks about those who liked Wuk Lamat's voice not bringing up examples of why we liked her voice when there's plenty of examples. You're either blind or acting clueless. Just look above your post; some of us like her voice for the same reason we like the rest of the english cast, they all follow the same standards as far as character presentation and expression goes.
Alisaie above proving my point that stuff like outbursts/screams in the english cast have always been muted/slanted towards cartoonish. That "Alphinauuuuud" Alisaie did there was very interesting and remiscent of how they wanted Wuk Lamat to sound in some of her expressive scenes.
I have reasons to like her voice, you only have "she said this on twitter so I hate her voice acting."
Your level of discourse is as I said earlier-embarassing to say the least.
So can I report you because your post contains the real world voices of Alisae? Pretty sure there's nothing wrong with talking about people associated with the production if they're part of the product. God forbid anyone mention YoshiP's real name on these forums!Gotta flip a coin as to whether square enix enforces their own "rules" or not:
People like karious and her ilk will continue stalking a voice actress's account and posting everything she says here no matter how out of topic and of personal nature it is.
As for the voice situation as it regards ffxiv
A lot of these people are hypocrites, I'll just leave this here:
JP Alisaie
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ViBDWP2j2ak
Eng Alisae
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=kXLTgLhwW5s
Perfect illustration of the format square enix has been using with their english cast. Alisae's outburst here is in-line with Wuk Lamat's. That's the direction the english division has chosen for xiv. Compare Alisaie's japanese outburst in that scene and you will notice a stark difference.
The issue isn't Wuk Lamat's voice acting, the issue is square enix itself, it's been like this for over 10 years.
Except we have. You just don't accept the arguments because they make sense and go against your narrative.Na, you are the one who is either trolling or simple not capable of thinking.

There have been moments where even characters who have been voiced for ~8 years at this point who sounded incredibly weird and had people do a quick Google search to see if they were voiced by the same VA (I'm talking about Thancred in this case, but he's also not the only one). This tells me there was a voice direction issue where the director did not adequately set up the scene for Sena (reminder the VA's DO NOT get any visual or even audio contexts when recording). Or, if I can be allowed to use the tinfoil conspiracy theory hat, there could have potentially been software issues where recorded lines could have been lost and everyone had to do a quick re-recording.
Yeah, because a cutscene you can find ingame is the same thing you're doing by posting their daily twitter messages.
