how well did SE represent your cultures in dawntrail?

South american here, look i normally don't care about representation or none of that inclusive check box but i was kinda hype about the Tural south american based theme because the game did fine with Shirogane, Ishgard, Radz-at Han and all of the main cities and my favorite he Azim steppe where you can see their nomadic life style of multiple tribes in a single map but..seriously? tacos and ponchos? this one tribe who really likes to trade and alpacas? that was the best thing they could do? it was laughably bad

Did you know for example there's a mini Mesa Verde in Shaaloni that you don't even go to in the MSQ.

It doesn't even have a Vista.

And up north it's more like Florida ever glades but the people live in in huts instead of thatched-roof houses.

I would hope this is not all we see of the Americas because there is so much more than this.

I should mention also I of course don't care much for representation but they took great care in making Shirogane, Ishgard and Radzat-han.

I was expecting a bit better for America which is so vast and naturally beautiful with many distinctive native cultures.

No, instead they represented China with the landscape, architecture, and music but gave everyone there Japanese clothing and names and made them samurai. Fantasy Vietnam got teased with clothing and food and then the representative from there was a blond dude.

You can't suddenly stop caring about real-world references if you never cared in the first place. It didn't start with this expansion.

That's because I just see Doma as Japan with heavy Chinese influence so it didn't bother me

In fact most non-Chinese won't even recognize the Chinese influence in that area

The music made sense to me. The day theme represents not the land itself, but the "vacation" theme (given that Tuliyollal is the first place we visit in the New World), while the night theme is a bossa nova style (aka from Brazil).

If you say so. But i'll say this, is not Bossa Nova, even if it was,it doesn't have the landmark instruments of latino jazz and considering XIV like a lot of games is just a pastiche.
I don't why people keep repeating that, besides tuliyollal is not Brazil, you can even check in the game map where is located, is centro america.
