I mean, let's not forget that when Depression Bird knocked us unconscious, he was literally the only one of us to actually resist long enough to sacrifice himself so we could live. Let me repeat that. Thancred stood up to something that knocked us, the overpowered Warriors of Light, on our asses, and still had enough strength to do what needed to be done.

You're not gonna tell me that all of those dudes together add up to even half a Depression Bird. No way in hell.

We have a blessing to be able to magically breathe underwater like a fish, while Thancred has been noted, back in Stormblood I think it was, to just have an exceptional ability at going without air for longer than normal. Not that I disagree that he's exceptionally strong in general, and could likely take those guys in a fight, but that one situation was one where he has already been established to blatantly outclass us.

It was Stormblood and he specifically mentions before going into one of the Loch's that he can hold his breath for at least 10 minutes and even then swimming underwater in that quest (the swimming under water in the Lochs to go i think into Ala Mhigo itself iirc if not somewhat like that) tested even his limit. ^_^

Not to mention that Meteion/Endsinger as a foe kinda becomes weaponless when you know about her means of attack.

I've now reached level 96 quests. And I've never felt more distant than during these MSQ quests.
The way Alisaie and the other Scions speak to the WoL is completely absurd, as if we were just random people who had just met.
My WoL just doesn't react like that. Then there's this completely stupid smile from the WoL to every question and this constant nodding in response to every task.
As a WoL you have absolutely no say during the entire MSQ, not even a little resistance.
I've never felt more rage than during this stupid MSQ.
Whoever is responsible for this garbage, please step on Lego bricks every day for the rest of your life.
And do the world a favor... STOP WRITING MSQ STORIES!

Yeah. For as much as I don’t like Wuk Lamat and the pacing issues…
The treatment of my WoL was the worst for me.
I think the last time I was that furious at a writing butchering a character was Metroid other M.

The whole time the WoL seemed like an obstacle or thorn in the writers side. One they had to include because it was an MMO but actually hated because it stood in the way of their FFXIV-2 story with MC Wuk Lamat.

It was such a disregard for that character I really cannot understand how one can be ok with that „mentor role“ or not.

Yoshida himself said once that the story moves when the WoL moves and now it’s just disregarded completely.
Who did they think they’d make happy with that?
Did they really think everyone would universally love Wuk Lamat and be ok with having their character benched?
How out of touch have they gotten at some points?

I understand having them take a step back or being more in the background but they still NEED to be the central focus for US the player.
We don‘t experience the story through Wuk Lamat but them.

Man I‘m already getting angry again. I really hope there is a long, long meeting at square right now.

I mentioned before I went through the MSQ four times, check out difference dub options, picking out different dialogue choice, trying to find easter egg and all that.

Remember the part where we fought the Shade at Wuk trial, and there is a moment 4 members are chain and Koana try to LB them out but saying "it's not enough!" because he doesn't do enough damage to break all of them. After the first two runs I was wondering "huh, I wonder if he has a different line if all the chain break in time". So on my third run, I save up all my CD and pop a pot to DPS the chains down far enough that Koana's LB does kill all of them. And sure enough, he does have a different voiced line for that ...


And let me tell you, I think this is the first time I feel regret finding an Easter egg.
