At one constant pitch
At one constant rhythm right into your ear
You still won't hear

I really appreciate that Dawntrail is so self-contained. Makes it ridiculously easier for Square Enix to eternally shelve that location and characters, without much trouble, should they choose to do so.
The whole Dawntrail story is just for one thing : getting in our hand the key. That's the whole point on the "grand scheme" of things.
Most probably an old creation of Azem. We will explore other shards and continents, help peoples here and there and maybe uncover some of Azem mysteries.
I'm so sick of seeing this excuse. They charged full price for this and XIV's story is the main selling point for the majority of the players. I also think it is very funny that you're telling other people to grow up when you're the one blindly defending the multi-billion dollar company. "But think of YoshiP and the heckin' multi-billion dollar company they're trying their best!!!!" Pffffthahahahahaha. This is such an absurd post it's hard to even like fully comprehend that a serious person is actually saying this stuff.
They put out 10 years of bangers, start a new story from scratch, and y'all can't even let them get past the opener before calling it a failure.
I think you all live in a little bubble where you actually believe everyone around you hated it or something. Grow up.
On one hand I also appreciate this because I already want to move on and get away from the lingering bad taste of the DT MSQ. I'm just here hoping that the savage raids and new group content coming is good from both a game play perspective and story perspective since the side stories are always written by different people than the MSQ and thus actually have a chance to not be total slop.
But on the other hand it will feel very weird if they just dump such a vastly different society as Alexandria onto the Source and then do absolutely nothing with it and its presence has zero repercussions. Due to the way they rarely let the world change much, I feel like they're going to have the Alexandrians continue on doing the same horribly unethical soul commodity stuff they've always been doing in their own literal bubble and the rest of Etheirys will just shrug and go, "Huh. Anyway..."
I don't know where you're getting your financial information. It certainly isn't from the quarterly and annual reports generated by Square Enix. You've probably read about SE dropping a number of projects and taking a write-down against what was already spent. That does not mean SE is losing money. Fiscal year 2024 (which ended at the end of March) still had an operating income that was 3% lower than the previous year. It was still income. We aren't talking about ff14 in a bubble, we are talking about square in general and final fantasy being what ppl think when they head square. And so far they haven't been doing well, ff7rebirth hasn't done well, ff16 didn't do well enough, other projects have bombed hard at square and now a lot of negative reception for their cash cow. It's not a good trend and squares financial situation is reflecting that
FY2025/3 Q1 has not been posted yet. At a guess, I predict it will be much better than Q1 for the past several years. But we won't know how much better until mid-August, about 6 weeks after Q1 closed (end of Q1 was 30 June).
And again, since SE hasn't announced numbers since the end of May (based on March numbers), all else is speculation at this point.
I forget how many crybabies and impatient adults we have on these forums. I have to remember this place is mostly toxic.
