Issue with <Z> title being a pro-war Russian symbol

Every time that this topic comes up on the forums, Sleepingway should add an extra 'z' to the title.

If I'm not mistaken, we are currently on 'Zzzz'.

The goal is not to weed out people who use it intentionally - as I previously mentioned I do understand that it would be a minority. The goal is to prevent PTSD for any Ukrainian that sees the title in the game.

System > Character Settings > Display Name allows you to turn off titles, if that helps any.

To expand on AmiableApkallu’s reply: in the Display Name section of the Character Configuration menu, there will be five tabs, located at the top of the menu window. In the tab labeled “Others”, you can turn off the titles of every player character besides your own; the option is labeled “Title Display Settings”, and it must be adjusted separately for Party Members, Alliance Members, Other PCs, and Friends.

Since titles are on by default, the existence of this option is probably not going to prevent anyone from seeing the title at least once and finding out that it exists, and you will still see titles in Adventurer Plates. Even so, turning off other players’ titles should greatly reduce the problem for anyone who finds this title (or any other title) triggering or otherwise objectionable.

Grow some thicker skin. The title comes from ARR and has to do with the relic quest line. And if you know what the final weapon is called, you’ll know why the title is <Z>. It’s been like that for 10? And they shouldn’t change it just because you’re an overgrown child.

Keep your politics and beliefs out of FFXIV and let it just be a game. They have nothing to do with the game and vice versa.

Sorry about all the stuff about war but it really feels you are looking for scabies to scratch. it's a tittle the comes way back any relation to the war that procceds the problem you mentions and since you just decide to ignore the very first post, who clearly gives you a solution to no trigger "anyone PTSD" as you do say, just sound like you are looking for a way to unleash, rather than looking for a solution.

Someone in the Gen Disc version of this topic pointed out that the title is different in other languages, so a potential solution would simply be to change the English title to be a translation of one of those other versions. The "solution" offered by the very first post is for the OP to turn off every single title in the game because of the one problematic one, whereas I feel the more reasonable solution would be changing the one title (out of over 700 in the game) that can feasibly be problematic for some.
