If Dawntrail becomes a story about a peace-loving ruler who eventually becomes twisted and obsessed about how true peace can only be obtained by stripping away the rights and freedoms of everyone else and we have to put her down to prevent a genocide? Sign me up.
Koana? Do the thing.
Just my opinion. Won't lose sleep if you don't like it.
I was thinking about the exact same thing.
I'm aware that the sort of joke Wuk Evu uses it's very popular generally for japanese audiences, but I felt they ran the joke into the ground after the 3rd time. Meanwhile, I cried for my boy Otis.
As a member of the lgbtq community I understand the need for diversity. But diversity in general felt better when it didn't feel like these companies were trying so hard. Early FF games had Terra, Celes, Rydia, Rosa, etc and they felt like a natural inclusion. Same with Barret. That even goes with companies like Disney. Pocahontas, Lilo and Stitch, The Emporer's New Groove, The Princess and the Frog, they all felt like they naturally just belonged in the line up and that they were just trying to tell a story kids would like, loosely based off of fairy tales, myths or legends.
But now it feels forced which in turn makes it feel gross and comes off as almost more sexist/racist/homophobic that before. While its good that more people are being able to find work in places that they were once mostly blacklisted from or only hired for cringy stereotypical roles and more care is being taken to treat culture and peoples with at least a modicum of respect, the fact companies are flying these hires, stories and character from a flagpole like they are saying, "look at us, look how inclusive we are, aren't we swell" makes me feel like we are still not seen as people since now we are a commodity. And whats worse is there are people within our own communities exploiting us for profit.

I actually had a joke with my FC. "Regicide is always an option". Then I completed the succession arc and killed the wrong queen.

The menacing aura of every Lalafell.
It makes zero sense to me that the same writers gave us pretty decent character development with Koana, having a heart to heart with Urianger and Thancred, and being distraught by his sister being kidnapped. But then when it came to Wuk Lamat, she's insecure, afraid of heights, and not strong enough to beat Bakool Ja Ja, but magically instantly overcomes all of those things for seemingly no reason at all? She has like ~90% of the screen time and you're telling me they couldn't use any of it to show her getting over insecurities instead of just being like "you're right, I should just stop being insecure" and that's it??? She's cured??? That's not how it works!! Maybe edit out one of her 2,000 rants about loving peace to instead be about some actual frickin character development.
