Solo Duties, We Need to Talk About It

I like them, as it gives an interactive eye on what the other major players are doing.
Doesn't take very long to check the tooltips on the maybe 6 skills you get, which are all generally overpowered versions of what the job would normally have anyway.

I'm having a hard time with Wuk as well. Been trying for days on very easy and still fails. I know the fight and tool kit but no go. I've been playing since 1.0 and this is the first time I'm story blocked.

I'm 61 yr old grandma and have less issues with Rebirth. Please fix this. I'm not the only one. All over social media.

Wuk is underpowered, unlike the others. She doesn't have Bloodwhetting, the skill that has been memed into Warrior's job identity these days.

I gave up on the Wuk Lamat solo duty fight. 6 fails in a row and 5 on what was supposed to be very easy. They need to add an option to skip them if you fail more that 2 times in a row. All I want is to get past MSQ so I can unlock the new crafting scripts items that's locked behind the MSQ.

It sounds super counterintuitive, but consider giving it another try on "Easy" instead of "Very Easy". Something seems to be off with the "Very Easy" mode and many people who struggled hard with that, managed to do it in "Easy". Also I linked to some tipps in the post above you, maybe they will help as well.

That said, it's a solo duty, nobody gets hurt if there would be a "skip after 3 failed attempts" button, so I'm all for it.

I just read on Japanese forum ones is asking for skip option after failing solo duty multiple times. Sounds like some of them is having problems with solo duties being too hard to.

I also find most solo duties basically chores that aren't fun. I'm not interested in playing some other character. I am here to play my personal WoL who I have meticulously glammed. (Likewise, I don't like quests that make me put on some mascot suit.)

When I go through the MSQ, I'm usually partied up with my friend and these force us to break up and do our own thing. Now and again there's one that actually benefits the telling of the story but the vast majority of them are at best tolerable. There's definitely been some in past expansions where I just stand in AoE until I die so I can slap on Very Easy. The absolute worst ones are the ones that try to be a stealth game because gosh, sorry Yoship but your crew cannot put together a stealth game worth a crap.

its okay to fail solo duties but I think you're over reacting a bit, I personally didn't like playing the wuk lamat solo instance, for me not having a full kit is pretty boring. But I think getting that upset over it is a little much. Take a step back, look up a video of someone doing it if you're struggling with mechanics. its OKAY to fail a solo instance, part of this game is learning and adapting but giving up on a good story over 1 mission that realistically isnt meant to be that challenging when there is optional very easy mode which tunes it down considerably is kinda wild. I encourage you to give it more tries and try to learn instead of just giving up because you will not enjoy most game experiences if that is a common attitude

This is what frustration does, it knocks you right out of the story.

Mind you, I didn't personally find it (I'm assuming everyone's talking about the Bakool Ja Ja vs Wuq Lamat fight) hard, I'm sure lots of people didn't, nor do I understand why it is some people find it that hard but if you wind up with fewer people caring about the story after than before, that basically means it's failed in the only job it had, which is to tell a story.
