Alternative to female Au Ra?

Honestly, the entire Au Ra race feels half baked. The dudes all walk the tightrope between colossal edgelord and groomer, the chicks seem like carbon copies of each other, even moreso than Mi'qote. I tried to like them, and failed miserably.

If some interns at CBU3 ever get a free few afternoons, they might benefit from writing up a proposal to remake the race from the ground up, or just replace it with something better. I know they couldn't have done this instead of Au Ra due to how Heavensward was in the beginning, but a race of draconic heretics would have been leagues better than what we got.

You don't see this archetype ("dragon people", even if their lore states otherwise) too often, I think, so I appreciate them on paper. Unfortunately, like you said, execution has left much to be desired...

I... doubt rewriting (outside of giving their counterparts in another reflection a vastly different culture. Voeburt came close, too bad it's gone!) let alone removing them is an option, next best thing would probably be a completely new race like them that (hopefully) doesn't suffer from the same design problems. Otherwise praying the devs implement body types/customization, but unless they retcon the size difference, that wouldn't actually fix my specific issue with them...

Something that's held back the creation of more races is body types. Roegs have to be huge, Elezen skinny and tall, etc. And every piece of gear has to fit everywhere on the size sliders. Fixing that would mean changing root parts of the character creator and delving into that spaghetti code. Maybe having a few body shapes to choose from instead of sliders, like the muscliest Elezen being the same as the skinniest Roeg.

Something they might look into, now that all outstanding races have been implemented (to varying degrees), but... I wouldn't hold my breath, they seem constantly swamped working on this or that despite the game's success and income (most of which admittedly probably isn't being invested back into it)
