JP only has 1 DC locked down out of 4, which is Mana, the most populated one, it makes no sense to lock all of NA DC's aside from Dynamis, it made sense week 1, but not at this point, they are just pushing it and no one is complaining about it (until this thread).

How does it make no sense when you yourself point out you won't ever touch the data center again? Their entire purpose was spreading and equalizing player distribution, and they've got an entire new data center to populate. There are constant cries of the data center being dead. And, let's not forget, the game is newly available to Xbox players. It makes perfect sense to forcibly encourage the data center to populate sufficiently that cries of it being dead diminish.

Except that's not what it's doing, what it's doing is forcing people to be on there, knowing for a fact that once it opens again (which is at the latest 7.0.5 according to them) people will leave in droves, be it via DC travel or full world transfer, to more populated DC's.

It would make sense if people stayed, but a lot wont. They opened DC travel, they doomed Dynamis to fail at the same time as they did that, Aether is and will stay the raiding DC, and Crystal is and will stay the RP DC, and a massive amount of people will either transfer or DC travel to those, just like pre DT. If you seriously think that all of those people, including the travelers (that are a massive part of the current population on dynamis) are going to keep going there when DC travel opens back up, I dont know what to tell you. That's the same thing as people that expected people to keep going to Oceanic when they opened DC travel from NA to OCE, it lasted a few days and then died down, and now barely anyone even goes there anymore. The same will happen to Dynamis after the restrictions are lifted.

Not only that, but it's also heavily unfair by design that Dynamis players are stuck to their own DC while other DC's have 2 dc's to play in, it aint a good feeling.

Also adding one last thing, I have been on Dynamis for about 9 months or so at this point, maybe 10, and was very happy there, but once you start to restrict where I can DC travel to, with the excuse of congestion when there is absolutely none, that's where I personally draw the line, if they are going to keep DC travel restricted, at least be honest about it and say that it's to populate Dynamis and dont use a congestion that doesnt exist as an excuse.

I mean, I am on Maddy mostly, and our DC went from 8 to 16 parties match pre expansion to 78 to 90 parties match.

I was just about to add a similar comment. PF on Dynamis has been much more active than normal by several magnitudes, especially for end game content.

Now put DC travel in the equation and world transfer.

The congestion excuse is already long gone, since after the first week pretty much.

SE is responsible for putting in DC travel in the first place, yes it's all great that Dynamis is alive right now thanks to all the travelers and people being stuck there, but it aint reality, nor is it how it's going to be in the future once DC travel opens back up, holding back on reopening DC travel fully because of something like this is absolutely silly, you are literally delaying the inevitable, it will happen be it today or in 2 weeks when it opens back up and people will leave, be it via DC travel or via transfer. Some will stay on Dynamis obviously, but a lot will go back to how it was pre DT, log in on dynamis for housing etc, and then hop over to other dcs for other things, and for older NA DC's, the meetup will be Aether for raiding and Crystal for RP, same as it has been for a while now.

Saying that it has been better as if its some massive improvement also makes no sense, because it's at the cost of people's freedom to DC travel and to see their friends and play with their friends, sure technically its an improvement, but its a very temporary one.

This is part of the problem though, the idea that spawned along with DC travel that certain DCs were the only places to go for certain things. One thing I was hoping that would come out of this travel lock was people realizing they didn’t need to leave their DCs to do content. It’s been great having a full PF on Crystal! But even before the travel lock, I was still able to get most things done without traveling. And when I did travel, most of my parties were filled with people from Crystal anyway!

But saying you can’t raid anywhere other than Aether is ridiculous. I think people just check the local PF, don’t see what they’re looking for, and resign themselves to traveling. Which I get, not everyone wants to run a PF listing. But if you do, it usually fills!

And the same could be true for most of Dynamis… if those people who assume they “have” to travel just stayed on their own worlds, queues and PF would be better. It becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy at some point.

Are any servers still experiencing an hours long queue? I know Gilgamesh was a wreck that first week.

My friends and I have just been gathering up on Dynamis.

I'm on Greg. The largest queue I think I've seen recently when logging in during evening "prime time" was ~150, and that only happened...once I think. Queue is usually either non-existent (the typical buffering of 30 or so) or hovers ~60.

I kinda disagree in this regard. as a crystal raider I always try to do as much as possible in crystal, and I did get all my EXs and P9S and P10S clears in crystal! but even trought I had no issue with farming EXs and even doing old content MINE like A8S on crystal, any ultimate or current savage was not going to happen. If I wanted to get my weekly reclears in a timely matter or fill a TOP party at all I was forced to go to aether which really sucked.

One part of me kinda likes this setup to some extent, not being forced to DC travel to raid is just amazing, I wonder if allowing people to freely travel but taking away rewards from roulettes and savages if you aren't in your original DC/dynamis would be a good idea.

For me, since early access, I've been forced back to a DC I was forced to make my character on since NA was all locked down. All my friends are on Aether. I've had nobody to talk to since my sprout fell off the instant I grabbed the first DT quest. I have been stuck in a place with a bunch of strangers without any socializing at all aside from the hello, gg bye of some df randos. Nobody to play with, no socializing, then you get the bad runs with the toxic casuals who cause wipes then tell you to stfu when you teach them things. I am tired of teaching people, toxic or not, I've done it for ten years, I need to be around my group of friends, who know how to play the game, we are on the same page etc... otherwise the game is extremely unenjoyable. Imagine being lonely in the biggest mmo on the freakin planet. smh

also , on the topic of this dc is this and that dc is that... its really not. Aether isnt for doing all content, aether is where the ultimate raiders tend to gravitate to. that makes sense, since ultimates have a smaller number of people doing them... savage/extreme can be done on any data center, no need to travel. RP runs wild on aether and primal, not just on crystal. dont travel for content unless youre going to meet with friends. if youre going solo for a pf raid , just stay home.
