Now call me crazy but Frontline players are weird to me - if there are actions that generally gain value to the point of being oppressive... how about you dont all stand together in a 15y circle or tighter?

Surely the map design will allow for spacing and cover not needing 16-24 players in one spot? The only time I understand clumps of players happening is melee attackers on a focused target but the ranged players can space out a bit.

Possibly because they've been yelled at by premade commanders for not following the "D" waymark. Thus they have had it beaten into them to zerg to maximize the K/D/A of their commanding premade, thereby becoming fodder for an opposing one.

Maybe these premades are in some kind of a trades union and planned it like this?

Wait, people order around movement with waymarks now for deathballing? Am I getting this right?

Like don't get me wrong, zerg/deathball is strong for a reason, but in a pvp format where AOE abilities are ACTUALLY strong, that just sounds like one of many dumb ways to die in largescale PvP.

Exactly so, although "people" here is mostly a tiny minority; specifically Olivia and her proteges.

It works exceedingly well for them in terms of win-rate and K/D/A, because naturally post-burst they are the first to break out of the deathball and leave the other players, who might as well be NPCs for all the agency they are given, to take the brunt of any counter-attack.

Unfortunately a waymark does absolutely nothing to encourage players to think about the strategic and tactical situations around them, nor do they learn that part of the counter to an enemy DRK dive is to spread out. But many military commanders discourage foot soldiers from thinking.

Classic case of the needs of the few being given precedence over the survival of the many, with a side-serving of Charge of the Light Brigade thrown in.
