The only two official changes announced so far are gender, race and appearances. They haven't announced a name change and I personally don't see it any time soon since that would cause major confusion in game when almost everybody has a new name.

Latest we have heard is that they were looking into it. They said if they did enable name change, there would be a shorter limit on the characters in the name. Let's see if I can dig up that post.
Found first post: "Some of you may be wondering about the possibility of changing character names, since we're allowing the change for gender. Due to some data-related issues, we will continue to discuss and look into possibility of character name changes."
Here's the latest!: "With name changes, from a UI standpoint there would be problems with names being too long. So if we were to make it possible to change names in 2.0, we would most likely have to adjust the maximum length. I'd like to make this decision based on how many requests we get as well as how difficult it would be to implement. "

Well, we all know that name changes are possible. It's just a matter of them letting us when the time comes.
XI:Shadowtaru (Alexander)Manifest(Shiva) Volnaru (Asura)
1.0: Delirium Impulse (MysidiaGungnir)
ARR:Dashe Herate (Sargatanas)Dashe Voln (Excalibur)

Its nice to be acknowledged by this offer but i personaly dont care about my name going in credits, I also dont think they should put players names in the credits at all, they should just thank the people from the old servers & current servers as testers & maybe consultants or something like that. ~ &reason why is because i hate long credits!
But i do hope they let us change our names!

I will gladly sit there for hours to see my name, also if you don't want it you dont have to, its gonna be an opt in kind of thing. Its nice to be acknowledged by this offer but i personaly dont care about my name going in credits, I also dont think they should put players names in the credits at all, they should just thank the people from the old servers & current servers as testers & maybe consultants or something like that. ~ &reason why is because i hate long credits!

I wish they would tell us if we are getting one >_< Just doesn't make sense to change gender but not name. I'd like the name I am planning to change it to in the credits also lol

Simple reason why they will not tell us.
If a name change would be easy then someone could be a loot whore, bad player and general jerk then change name and shed all that bad rep.
I am against name changes in general for this reason alone.
I like frog
I don't want to change my name, so I hope I won't be forced to.
I very seriously doubt they'll not ask for our real names/alias... we're talking about a credit score, after all.Well since the Legacy thing was announced and I saw that we will have the option to get our names in the credits of the game at 2.0 I've been wondering, will we be able to change our names before then? I really want to change my name and I don't want my current name to be the one stuck in the credits forever lol. Does anyone else feel the same way?
Agreed.
Gender/Race changes wouldn't make sense without a name change.

I would like a name change just because one of my char's names doesn't suit her. I dislike it now. I love all my other names but I should have thought more about this one. I've progressed too far with her to remake her though. She's perfect all but her first name. (Not talking about Isalyn... XD *huggles my Lala*)
