The reason Flare Star's graphics are so small is because Square wanted to visually provide an accurate representation of the damage it deals. Given that Flare Star barely deals more damage than a single Fire IV, the graphics have been made exceedingly small to reflect this fact.

I do want to highlight that it sounds amazing. It kaCHUNKs like a tank shell.
It could 100% be bigger. It's totally lost in some bosses bodies.
Not really surprising after what they did with Thunder... straight up a downgrade from Thunder III and IV. I don't think Yoshi P mains black mage anymore.
Tbh I feel like Flare Star should only be castable after 2 firephase making in somewhat in line with a 1min CD.
Only Paradox and Despair grant a stack (which obviously stays during umbral phase) and casting FlareStar requires 4 stack instead of 6.
Potency is increased accordingly.
Amplifier also grant a 30s buff (Next Flare Star is free to cast)
This would solve :
- issue of loosing stack whenever boss leaves the arena or if you need to shorten your firephase, bringing back some flexibility to the gameplay.
- would allow flare star to be cast else where than the end of astral phase, bringing back again flexibility.
- make flare star its own thing and not just "the finisher of a finisher". We already got RDM for Hecta-finisher playstyle.
- Make amplifier a bit more noteworthy... 2min for 1 xeno feels a bit meager.
- Could possibly open for some interesting optimisation for up to 3 FlareStar in burst window.
You're right, it could totally be 100% bigger. Yoshida please!
It’s a good thing not to answer your enemies. I scarcely ever do. Perhaps Emily is more like me than I am like myself. Perhaps she would rather not answer her friends, even. She keeps it all in her heart.
I agree it needs to be bigger and brighter and it needs to always show up even when people have all effects disabled
It looks like a big Fire I.
