Can’t wait for the Celtic themed expansion where they hire a bunch of new yorkers for the authentic experience.

Accuracy aside, it’s one thing to do a consistent accent and another to drift in and out of it. Hugh Laurie as House or Christian Bale as Batman, sure the accents are fake but I don’t recall them drifting back into their normal ones. Equally you’ve got Hollywood’s various attempts at Robin Hood where they had a crack at a British accent and its inability to stay in one country for more than a sentence was more distracting than the previous attempt where they didn’t bother. I dunno, it’s a judgement call the voice director must have made. Maybe the varied accent would have worked if WL was trying to be of the people despite not being/her upbringing? That would have required a designated city accent though so perhaps too much effort.

I originally came to the forums out of curiosity and my friend and I compared languages. So, ya'll damn weird. It's obvious she was miscast and you go insane delving into their history to justify your points. Take a break from this game if you need to do this. A lot of plot issues, that's on writing which will be first Japanese and then translation. The second is on the voice director, hiring and heck probably even PR with how sensitive the US tends to be. Yet oddly, so much of this is going after the person who was probably just excited to get hired and be there. and all this jazz about cultures, stop thinking this is a NA company developing this game.

Fair, but I think my point was the VA isn't really the one to target which does seem to be the issue. My point is of course, understand it's a JP game that's translated and there's many people involved for a game like this.

Edit: It's easy to blame a VA when there's many people involved. A lot of people need to stop being so emotionally connected to games they're invested in that they go after people hired by a company.

Dude, the VA is not good at the job. YET the VA got the mainrole of the expansion... You can call it rage-bait conspiracy theory as much as you want. DEI-Hiring being the reason makes the most sense.

And I personally cant see how anyone would ever love the VA outside of ''Oh my god she is like us''. Simply because the VA lacks the skills for being the MC.

I also have yet to read an explanation WHY anyone would think the WA does a great job... while there are multiple why people think the VA doesnt.

People dislike the VA not because the VA is a T, people dislike the VA because the VA is a big part why the expansion is not enjoyable if you play it in english.
But ofc people can definitly make the arguement that hiring a T is maybe not the best choice for the female MC, since it is kinda obv, that the vocalrange will be limited especially if you want to convey emotions.
Which I dont see as an transphobic argument.

The VA obv also had doubts in themselves playing the role, which is why the tweets were posted. It doesnt help that the VA personally seems to be a rather bad person.

I am also kinda sure that people keeps mentioning how bad the VA is as a person because people keep defending the VA without arguments, throwing insults and labels as counter argument
just underlines they only defend the VA for the obv reason, which is simply annoying.

At the end it doesnt matter anymore much, since the start of the expansion is now ruined for a lot of people.
*Shrug* will they change it? Unlikely... should people voice their opinion to have a chance of a better future.. yes they should.

I personally have switched to the Jap version... so i will see in the next patches.

And that's your opinion and that's perfectly fine. I personally feel she was fine in some scenes and fell flat in others, so she neither made or broke the story for me. Then there's others who love it.

All just a 1/3. Also will continue to say just keep it to the voice performance and direction and not bring up the DEI rage-bait conspiracy theory nonsense. That just makes your arguments sound like those wannabe grifters who only want to stir drama.

I mean to be fair the DEI thing not really bait when there is sufficient evidence of it failing aka forspoken being one of the examples. If there exist proof to prove points and ppl state them i believe it should be pointed to...sweet baby inc has not been helping to clean the image.

If you like the voice good on you. Just don't pretend ppl not suppose to voice opinion. Allot of you and you know who you are need to seriously chill out. It's just a game. If ppl disagree with it, who are you to threaten, label, and slander said person for not liking something.

Remember if you dont like zenos that make you a racist....we all know how much ppl hate zenos XD
