The current client? You're looking at dropping $1800+ for an Alienware M17x or M18x and another $100+ for some cooling pads. It's a horribly optimized engine running on some ancient deprecated version of DX9.

ITT we're in 2009
laptops come in with i7s and GT540s now. It's not impossible to play this game and not look like ass.

Lol. Not true.
I have a Battalion 101 P151HM1 from iBuyPower and I can play the game just fine by turning down the settings just a tad bit.
Well... "Common" sense isn't all that common anymore, now is it?

I can play for 10 or so hours a day if I wanted to. Sure it gets hot but most laptops shut down before they get to a certain temp. Also laptops are just naturally incredibly hot. Ventilation is a nice thing to have, you know. ASUS makes some pretty robust laptops.

lol none. Laptops are highly limited when it comes to video cards. Fact.
Buy a desktop PC. With this game... you can get a single vid card. But preferably sli/cross fire.
