I have literally only ever seen that abbreviation used by Chuds that are screeching about how video games have gone woke due to a Ramen man saying "is this appropriation?" in NEO TWEWY.

Personally I feel obsessively watching someone on Twitter hoping they say something that'll "prove your point" is kinda cringe. Touch grass or something idunno
Who said anything about obsessively watching Twitter? Their ilk love to screech it to anyone that will listen, and you hear that crap just through the telephone that is the internet.
I don’t see what is “anti-woke” about calling someone out for being racist, or highlighting that they are openly calling for discriminatory measures. ‘Rules for thee, but not for me’ seems to be the thought behind it. The moment people like that are confronted, they will flip the script.People voiced this concern over multiple threads, tweets and stuff like this, and I read comments were people again got labeled to be any kind of phobes and stuff like this.
After people looked a little more into the VA they could easily see that this VA is basically not only unskilled but also a toxic one, which should have never got the job.
As usual, any valid criticism is deflected. Be it through memes or name-calling, or trying to find a gotcha using semantics and attempting to appear intellectually superior.
Can’t fault them when it keeps working. Despite sharing in the identity of many of these folks, I’m ashamed to see them act like this and being considered a part of them.

This thread should be dead/locked.
It's been cut and dry what the problems with DT are.
While the Boogeyman of GamIndustry are always a thing to worry about. you must pay attention to those who tarnish any position. (which sadly, has been turned into a grift by some)
DEI/BRIDGES is a huge deal to worry about in the GamIndustry.
But not necessarily a huge one for XIV.
Wuk Lamat works for what her character is in the early parts of DT, as well as her introduction in 6.x
The issue is the clear lack of improvement in specific sections of the story. Unlike how Emet was disliked by a number in stormbloods 4.x, and his latter Glow Up into one of (MMO)RPGS well written and liked characters of recent years.
Wuk Lamat was written into a corner by pacing, and multiple points of the story.
It became muddled by multiple things.
And it just became easy to Knee-jerk either one problem, or the other.
But Cut and Dry, She did the bare minimum and was enjoyable for some parts of the story.
Combined with a lack of player involvement that could of been tempered with a Tuliyolal Defence Solo Duty, more dialog options to teach her. and More lessons of various type in which she is taught to be more than just, speaking solves everything.
Cause it doesn't always, and one of the biggest flaws of DT being that Talk wasn't even ever had at the end. And you can't know a AI/Coding Program as a living being at all.
[The solution to that is logic and knowledge, which only the scions and the WoL/D know of. if only we didn't get others butting in and interrupting. Like the part with Tuliyolal Defense CS2 with all our efforts being Deus Ex Machina for a Nation that couldn't do it on their own. or Taught to do so on their own cause the writing(didn't do then any benefits).]
(and after Explaining everything, hit them with the emotion of what their subjects want. But since there never was a point in which to have a real talk. DESPITE BEING SO FOCUSED ON KNOWING THE ENEMY, YET NOT EVEN FN TRYING. it's Basically "ENOUGH TALK" meme.)
TLDR: it ain't really Wuk Lamats sole fault.
we cannot be blind to GamIndustry issues, but they are not solely the issue.
As the devs should of known by now what we wanted as a story and a new beginning.
and while I'd dislike not knowing what the follow through story they planned to make after DT would be. If they changed course.
YoshiP new since before DT start that something was coming. and it was all this.
[It all compounded, but it wasn't solely Wuk Lamat. but it definitely didn't help.]
We have people in this VERY thread combing through months of Sena's twitter and copy pasting the tweets here trying to paint her as some insane awful person who shouldn't be hired due to her morals. Yea, that's what I would call a bit obsessive. If you don't like her voice, hey cool, I'm not particularly a fan either, but trying to frame this as some insane DEI (wth does that even mean btw, I just know alt-right types use it when they're talking about wokeness taking over) is just ridiculous.
Literally go through some of the previous posts on Wuk Lamat. I don't even have a Twitter, but her insane takes were spread here by people who do. Unhinged stuff gets shared. And her VA is VERY MUCH unhinged.
Is it really obsessive to go "What the hell is wrong with this voice?", look up the VA, find some weird stuff, and go looking deeper, and find even more insane stuff? We have people in this VERY thread combing through months of Sena's twitter and copy pasting the tweets here trying to paint her as some insane awful person who shouldn't be hired due to her morals. And you just proved my point. If I have issues with how someone sounds, I don't immediately hop onto Twitter and go "oh that's why." I just go on with my day because what's done is done and they're now the voice of X character. They were great in some scenes, bad in other scenes and overall were just fine. Didn't make or break the story for me whatsoever.
Also how someone is online =/= how they are IRL. If you saw my twitter feed, you'd think I'm some kind of degenerate furry. Meanwhile IRL I'm either the "hey how are you?" meme or a smart ass.

Yeah generally if someone does some sucky acting a normal person just goes "huh that was kinda bad" and moves on with their life. Looking up the entire online presence of a random voice actor is some terminally online behavior.
